The owner loves the laid-back, retro townscape of Haleiwa, a town located on the north side of Oahu, which is different from Waikiki and other areas, and chose it as the name for the shop.

The signature dish at "Haleiwa Kitchen" is "Garlic Shrimp"!

Haleiwa's neighboring town, Kahuku, is a major shrimp farming area and is said to be the birthplace of garlic shrimp.

The owner traveled to 25 different places to try the garlic shrimp recommended by locals, and recreated the flavor he liked best at this restaurant!
