[Hakata Station] A new branch of a popular restaurant that has long lines every day! A hidden cafe where you can enjoy innovative sweets in a stylish space (Fukuoka City)

Hello♪ I'm chippachapus and I love going to cafes.

This time, we will introduce ``KITTO'', which opened on August 1st, 2023!

"KITTO" is a cafe with an antique atmosphere that feels like another world (Hakata Station, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)

KITTO is located about a 13-minute walk from JR Hakata Station. It is a hideaway-like cafe marked by a small red door.

This is the fourth store in the popular Korean cafe chain "AIMAI," and its atmosphere and concept are completely different from the other three stores.

Opening the door, you'll enter a different world! The long corridor is decorated with many antique items, and just walking through it is exciting. The red door you can see at the very back is also one of the details they paid special attention to.

At the end of the corridor, a stylish space awaits.

The concept is to combine antique and modern elements to create a space that is a little bit out of place.

It was really cute with dried flowers all over the walls.

The sweets and drinks are also prepared in a slightly unique style that you won't find anywhere else.

KITTO (Sweets)

Let's start by introducing the sweets.

There are currently three types of sweets on the menu.

The first one is "Panna Cotta" (700 yen). It has a unique appearance that doesn't look like panna cotta at first glance.

In fact, the panna cotta is hidden inside the cone.

You can eat it however you like, but the recommended way is to crush the corn with a fork and eat it with the panna cotta inside.

When the panna cotta is combined with the tea jelly around it, it tastes like milk tea.

The corn had a moist and crispy texture, and was accented with fragrant almonds.

The second one is "Fruit Pavlova" (700 yen).

Between the crispy meringues is a generous amount of yogurt cream and chopped fruit.

What's more, there's sponge cake inside! The sponge cake is divided into two layers, with lemon curd sandwiched between them.

The refreshing yogurt cream and sweet meringue had a good balance of sweetness. The fruit went really well with it, and it was so delicious I could eat it all in one go.

The third is the "Orange Jelly Tea Affogato" (700 yen), which comes with a side of black tea syrup.

The orange jelly containing mandarin pulp was combined with vanilla ice cream, allowing me to enjoy the refreshing sweet and sour taste of the citrus fruit.

The orange jelly is mixed with a bit of spice, so it has a nice spice flavor.

You can change the flavor by adding tea syrup whenever you like. It's like a dessert that's almost like a drink.

There are two types of drinks to go with the sweets this time.

On the left is "Orange Tea" (650 yen), and on the right is "Fruit Punch" (700 yen).

The "Orange Tea" was a great combination of the freshness of orange and the clean taste of tea, while the "Fruit Punch" was packed with a variety of fruits and had a fruity flavor.

Apparently, all of the sweets are not too sweet so that they go well with tea-based drinks.
