A selection of delicacies you'll want to eat every day! "Great for gifts" - A popular "grape bread specialty store" in Kurume
Hello. This is Chihilog, a casual blog that provides information about Fukuoka, with a focus on gourmet food.
This time, we will introduce you to a very stylish grape bread specialty store located in Kurume City.
Enjoy a variety of grape breads! "Grape Bread Specialty Shop Budopan" (Kurume City)
Budopan, a grape bread specialty shop, is located in Higashigagawa, Kurume City, a two-minute drive from Kurume Interchange on the Kyushu Expressway.
The shop sells a wide variety of grape breads, sandwiches, and miscellaneous goods, and has been extremely popular since its opening in April 2022.
The shop is spacious and has an eat-in area, but you can also sit at the counter and enjoy your bread at your leisure.
Let's start by introducing their signature product, grape buns.
Incredibly delicious! Grape bread you'll want to eat every day
The first thing you should try is the standard menu item "Budopan's Grape Bread" (450 yen).
We also recommend the "Masimasi" (650 yen), which contains 1.5 times the amount of raisins (the photo below shows the Masimasi).
Based on the theme of "a grape bread you can eat every day," this bread is made using white bread dough and has a soft finish to match the texture of the raisins. It's heavy and filling!
It was so delicious that I thought, "This is the first time I've ever been so impressed with grape bread!"
In addition to the classic grape bun, the "Budopan Premium Series" also has plenty of other must-try menu items!
Among the many grape breads available, the most popular is this "Salted Grape Bread" (200 yen).
It had a slight salty taste and was so delicious that I wanted to eat it again and again.
This is "Mixed Raisins with Cranberries" (450 yen).
This grape bread is made with a generous amount of three types of raisins: California raisins, Muscat raisins, and cranberries, and the fresh taste of the raisins and the tartness of the cranberries are irresistible.
When I cut it open, I could see that it was packed with raisins! No matter where I took a bite, there were plenty of raisins in my mouth, making it very satisfying to eat.
This is the "Whole Wheat Walnuts and Raisins" (450 yen), which features a rich dough made with whole wheat flour.
We recommend lightly toasting it just before serving. This will bring out the aroma of the walnuts and California raisins.
My personal favorite was the "Sun Muscat" (450 yen).
Packed with plenty of "Sun Muscat Raisins", it has a refreshing, juicy and fruity taste. It was a delicious taste I had never experienced before.
Another dish you should try is the "Grape Bread" (880 yen per loaf).
The fluffy dough is filled with an amazing amount of raisins!
Even when cut thinly, it's still filling. This is a delicacy you'll want to stock up on.
We also have a wide variety of breads other than grape buns!
In addition to grape buns, they also have a wide selection of cute, photogenic breads.
The box-shaped "Hakopan" is not only cute in appearance, but is also delicious and filling, making it extremely popular.
Starting from the bottom left in the photo going clockwise, the rich lineup includes "Hakopan Lemon" (220 yen) made with orange, lemon, and raisins, "Hakopan Curry" (250 yen) filled with plenty of curry, "Hakopan Chocolate" (220 yen) with walnuts and flavorful chocolate inside a chocolate dough bread, "Hakopan Cinnamon" (220 yen) made with cinnamon, apple, and raisins, and "Matcha and Raisin Kurukuru Kuruppan" (300 yen) filled with raisins and matcha bean paste.
These sandwiches (from 300 yen) are filled with fillings and are perfect for breakfast, lunch, or as a snack on a drive.
They also have "fresh bread" (680 yen per loaf), which boasts soft and fluffy dough.
The "Korokoro Rusks" (400 yen) made from grape buns and fresh bread are perfect as souvenirs!
The crispy texture is irresistible.
Once you try one, you won't be able to stop eating them because they're so delicious.
Drinks are available for both eat-in and take-out.
Also pay attention to the containers featuring original characters!
This time I ordered "100% Grape Juice" and the new "100% White Grape Juice" (250 yen each).
Both were packed with the fresh deliciousness of grapes.
Original character goods also on sale!
"Budopan, a specialty store of grape bread," was established with the concept of "introducing grape bread and a sense of fun to your daily life." The store is run by Morita, who is also active as an illustrator.
Morita's artwork and merchandise are also sold in the store.
A variety of adorable miscellaneous goods that will make you smile.
Morita also designed the characters for "Budopan."
There were also "Cafe Tumblers" (1,600 yen) and "Thermo Stainless Steel Bottles" (2,800 yen).
They were so cute that I bought a "Budopan Acrylic Keychain" (300 yen) and an "Umbrella Marker" (550 yen)♪
Next to the merchandise corner there was also a "Budopan Sticker Gacha"!
This extremely popular gachapon machine has already been spun over 1,300 times in the less than a year and a half since it opened.
When I opened it, I found an original sticker and some grape-themed sweets inside.
Apparently there's a secret too!
