This is a sister restaurant of the popular "Shiki Rikushichubo" restaurant in Ginza, Tokyo, which is so popular it's impossible to get a reservation.

Guests can enjoy traditional Shanghai cuisine prepared by owner-chef Lu Ming, who was born and raised in Shanghai.

When you enter the store, the first thing that strikes you is the luxurious atmosphere.

Great value lunch menu! A main dish with soup, rice, pickled takana, and dessert, starting from 1,300 yen

There are a total of 35 different lunch sets to choose from. If you include a la carte dishes such as noodles, there are about 47 different options.

The lunch main dishes are quite filling, so it's recommended to come with a group of people and share.

Momoyaka Yukukou Yakiniku (Shanghai-style braised pork)

A particularly recommended dish is "Hyakuba Yukou Yakiniku (Shanghai-style braised pork)" (1,800 yen).

This is a very filling menu filled with pork from Kagoshima Prefecture and chunks of "moyoyui (pressed yuba knot)" tofu.

The black pork is simmered in soy sauce until tender, giving you a strong taste of the concentrated sweetness of the meat.

"Hyakuba Musubi (pressed yuba knot)" is rare in Japan, and has a gentle tofu flavor and soft elasticity that will become addictive!

It was delicious and full of luxury.

In addition to the main dish, the lunch set comes with soup, rice, pickled takana, and dessert.

The soup, which many customers visit specifically for, is truly exquisite.

It is made with chicken and dried shiitake mushrooms, steamed for over an hour, and has a light yet rich flavor.

The dessert changes daily. On this day, the dessert was "Keika Ginmimikan (sweetened white wood ear mushrooms with sweet osmanthus)". It would cost 550 yen on its own, but it was a bargain to get this set!

The sweet osmanthus smells great. The day after eating it, my skin seemed to become shiny!

This is a dessert I'm so addicted to that I want to order it as a standalone item.

Mabo tofu

The classic "Mapo Tofu" (1,300 yen) is also a menu item that you should definitely try.

This lunch also comes with soup, rice, pickled takana, and dessert.

A blend of three types of doubanjiang and two types of chili oil. With a touch of miso, it has a deep, irresistible flavor.

Another nice touch is that it is accented with Japanese pepper, giving it an exquisite spiciness that is easy to eat.

Stir-fried pork threads (stir-fried marigold and shredded pork)

This is "Stir-fried wild mushrooms and shredded pork" (1,600 yen).

The menu is packed with vegetables, including wild marigold, which is used in Shanghai home cooking.

Makomotake mushrooms have a texture similar to that of bamboo shoots, and when combined with the savory and sweet taste of pork, they create an exquisite taste.

Dried shrimp (shrimp in chili sauce)

The spicy accent of the "Dried Shrimp in Chili Sauce" (1,800 yen) is irresistible.

Although it is spicy, the egg and sauce give it a mellow flavor.

The large shrimp had a springy and chewy texture that was irresistible! It was so delicious that I wanted to have it again and again.

The a la carte menu is packed with dishes you'll want to try!

Lu's Kitchen's signature pot sticker (Lu's Kitchen's fried dumplings)

The recommended dish from the a la carte menu is the juicy "Lu Shi Chu Fang Zhao Pai Potsticker (Lu Shi Chu Fang Fried Dumplings)" (800 yen for 5 pieces), which is said to be very popular at the sister restaurant "Shiki Lu Shi Chu Fang."

Each one was so big that I was surprised at the volume!

The dumpling dough is handmade and the filling is made with pork, ginger, green onions, and plenty of gravy made from gelatin made from simmered pork skin.

If you try to cut it in half with chopsticks, the juices will spill out.

It had a mild taste and was delicious.

Gomoku fried rice

The highlight of the dish is the "Gomoku Fried Rice" (1,000 yen), which uses roast pork prepared in-house.

The sweetness of the rice and the umami of the roast pork are irresistible. It looks like it would be easy for even small children to eat.

Xianroucai fried rice (Shanghai-style rice pot with green vegetables and salted meat)

"Xianroucai fried rice (Shanghai-style rice pot with green vegetables and salted meat)" (1,500 yen) is also a popular menu item.

In Shanghai, green vegetables and rice are cooked raw, but at Lao Shanghai they have made an arrangement to make it even easier to eat.

The moment I opened the lid, I was impressed by the aroma of green vegetables and the delicious taste of the meat.

All the dishes were delicious and impressive. What's more, it's great value for money considering it's located in Nakasu! The view is also a treat.
