The muffins filled with whole cheesecake are delicious! The second store of the popular baked goods shop in Kurume (Otemon, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)
Hello. I am Yorimichi, the owner of the blog "Yorimichi's Fukuoka Introduction," which introduces delicious restaurants in Fukuoka.
This time, we will introduce the second store of Kurume's popular baked confectionery shop, which opened on August 1, 2023 at Otemon, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City.
A popular baked confectionery shop in Kurume opens its second store! "Oriha baked confectionery shop" (Otemon, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)
"Oriha Ohori Store" is located just a one-minute walk from Ohori Park Station on the Subway Kuko Line. It blends in well with the town, and looks more like a well-established store than a newly opened one.
But this unassuming atmosphere gives it the feeling of being a shop that only those in the know would know.
There is no eat-in space inside the store; it is a take-out specialty store.
There are about 20 kinds of baked goods on display, including Basque cheesecake, a wide variety of muffins, scones, cookies, and more.
They also have a wide selection of baked goods that are popular at their main store in Kurume.
I can guarantee that everything is delicious, as I frequent the Kurume store. I also appreciate the reasonable pricing that makes you think, "Is this really worth it?"
Introducing our recommended lineup
Well, I've bought a lot of things so I'll show them to you.
basque cheesecake
First, we would like to introduce the "Basque Cheesecake" (1/4 cut, 550 yen), a popular signature item at the Kurume store.
You can see how creamy it is even in the photo, right?
Its appeal is the rich cheese flavor that spreads the moment you put it in your mouth, and its delicate texture that begins to melt even at room temperature. It's truly a blissful experience as it melts on your tongue.
It is one of the best cakes I have ever eaten, and I think they could run a specialty cheesecake shop.
There is also a whole size available (2,100 yen) so you can eat a lot.
muffin
These muffins are big and filling.
There are many different types, but my personal favorite is the "Cheesecake Muffin" (440 yen). The muffin is stuffed with the aforementioned Basque cheesecake!
The muffin part is crispy on the outside and chewy rather than fluffy on the inside. The depth of flavor is irresistible.
The cheesecake and muffin are both delicious on their own, so the harmony of their flavors is one of a kind. It feels like you're getting a great deal, as if you're enjoying two different kinds of luxurious sweets.
This is the "Whimsical Muffin" (400 yen), which changes daily. On this day, it was matcha.
When you insert the knife, you hear a quiet, fizzing sound that sounds like the ultimate moistness.
If you like matcha, this is a must-try. If you come across it, be sure to give it a try!
This is the "Berry and Cream Cheese Muffin" (400 yen). A muffin made with cream cheese and topped with a generous amount of sweet and sour berry sauce.
It's delicious as is, but it would also be good to spread some honey on it and bake it in the oven. I'd love to have it for breakfast.
Scones and Cookies
There are many scones available, including the "Almond Caramel Scone" (300 yen), "Black Tea Scone" (300 yen), and "Matcha White Chocolate Scone" (300 yen). The moist and crumbly texture is exquisite. After one bite, you'll definitely want to buy another one.
There are a variety of cookies available, but the must-try is the "Boule de Neige" (380 yen).
It has a crispy texture and melts in your mouth, with a gentle sweetness that spreads throughout your mouth.
It's a magical treat that you'll want to eat forever, so make sure you have a strong heart and eat one cup a day.
There was a lovely letter inside the bag I purchased.
This kind of small consideration is nice, isn't it? It also makes a perfect gift.
To all of you in Fukuoka, this store is sure to satisfy your snacking needs in the future.
If you are in the area, please stop by. (Text: Yorimichi)
