[All in under 10 minutes] Easy microwave cooking! 3 easy and delicious "pork" main dish recipes that the whole family will love
Hello everyone. This is Ooto Chie.
My husband is an athlete, so summer fatigue is his biggest enemy. Using his knowledge as a Level 2 Athlete Food Meister, he is careful about what he eats on a daily basis.
So this time, we will introduce you to a recipe that uses pork, which is rich in vitamin B1, which is said to be effective in preventing summer fatigue. (※1)
It's been really hot lately, and I'm sure there are many people out there who are feeling a bit fatigued from the summer heat, so please take a look at this recipe. It's a microwave-safe recipe, so it's easy to make even on hot days when you don't want to stand in the kitchen. It's a simple and delicious main dish recipe. All of them can be completed in less than 10 minutes.
1: Green pepper and pork rolls
[Ingredients] (Serves 2)
Thinly sliced pork belly... 4 to 5 slices
Thinly sliced bamboo shoots (boiled)・・・70g
2 green peppers
Light soy sauce・・・1 tablespoon
Cooking sake・・・2 tablespoons
Chicken stock powder... 1 teaspoon
Grated garlic/grated ginger (tubes are fine) - about the size of your pinky finger
<How to make>
(1) Wash the bamboo shoots and drain them in a colander. Thinly slice the bell peppers.
(2) Wrap (1) around the pork cut in half lengthwise (the amount can be adjusted to your liking!).
(3) Place (2) in a heat-resistant container.
(4) In a separate container, mix the grated garlic and ginger, chicken stock powder, and cooking sake, then pour over (3). Finally, pour light soy sauce over the top, cover with plastic wrap, and microwave at 600W for 4 minutes and 30 seconds.
(5) If the meat is cooked through, it is done. Check carefully to make sure there are no red parts remaining, especially in the overlapping areas of the meat (if there are, heat for an additional 30 seconds or so).
We also recommend sprinkling sesame seeds on top to enhance the flavor, or substituting oyster sauce for chicken stock. By making small adjustments, you won't get bored of eating the same dish.
2: Pork rolls with condiments
[Ingredients] (Serves 2)
Thinly sliced pork belly・・・4 slices
2 pieces of Japanese ginger
Perilla leaves...about 8 pieces
Salt...appropriate amount
Black pepper...appropriate amount
Cooking sake・・・1 tablespoon
<How to make>
(1) Cut the myoga ginger into thin strips.
(2) Cut the pork in half lengthwise and sprinkle with salt.
(3) Wrap (2) in an appropriate amount of myoga and one shiso leaf, and arrange in a heat-resistant container.
(4) Pour cooking sake over (3), cover with plastic wrap, microwave at 600W for 3 minutes and 30 seconds, then leave it for 1 minute (with the plastic wrap still on).
(5) If it is cooked through, it is done. If there are any red parts remaining, heat it for an additional 30 seconds.
Be sure to add plenty of black pepper. It also makes a great snack.
It goes without saying that pork and myoga go together perfectly. The light flavor of the condiments will have you eating even on days when you don't have much of an appetite.
3: Layered steamed pork
[Ingredients] (Serves 2)
Thinly sliced pork loin・・・8 slices
Perilla leaves・・・10 pieces
Lotus root...1 small piece
Mirin・・・2 tablespoons
Chicken stock powder... 2 teaspoons
Cooking sake・・・2 tablespoons
Salt...appropriate amount
Grated garlic/ginger (tubes are fine)...1 teaspoon each
<How to make>
(1) Sprinkle salt on the pork. Peel the lotus root and slice it thinly.
(2) Mix the minced garlic and ginger, cooking sake, and chicken stock in a heat-resistant container, then layer the pork, shiso leaves, and lotus root in three layers.
(3) Pour mirin over (2), cover with plastic wrap, microwave at 600W for 5 minutes, then leave it as is for at least 30 seconds (with the plastic wrap still on).
(4) If the meat is cooked through, it is done. If there are any red parts remaining, heat it for an additional 30 seconds.
This recipe is nutritionally well-balanced, with meat, seasonings, and root vegetables all in one. If you have time, we recommend steaming it in a bamboo steamer or making it in a pot.
In both recipes, make sure to cook the pork thoroughly. Note that the thickness of each piece of pork is different, so the cooking time may differ.
Please give it a try. (Text by Oto Chie)
