This time, we will introduce a cafe with an attached nail salon located in Shimizu, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City.

Opening in the summer of 2023! A stylish cafe with a nail salon attached, "THE KYS" (Shimizu, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City)

"THE KYS" opened on June 5, 2023.

This interesting building with a slanted roof is located very close to Kyushu Nutrition and Welfare University and Higashi Chikushi Junior College.

The interior of the store is made of exposed concrete, giving it an inorganic yet stylish impression.

The first floor is a cafe space.

The nail salon is on the second floor. It has an open ceiling and is designed to give an open feeling.

First, you order at your seat and then each person is given a key.

This looks like a hotel key and is a substitute for a number tag. It's very stylish and cute.

Exquisite menu items created through repeated trial and error

The cafe offers light meals, sweets and drinks.

Great for brunch! Three types of food

This is the "Bacon and Egg Pancake" (1,260 yen). The shop is open from 10am, so it's perfect for a late morning meal.

Two pancakes, perfected after a lengthy process of trial and error, are served with soft scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and vegetable salad.

The pancakes are not too sweet, so you can enjoy them as a meal! You can also change the flavor by adding maple syrup, which was very satisfying.

This is the "Hot Sandwich (Ham and Cheese)" (950 yen) which is full of cheese. When you put a knife into the soft-boiled egg, the runny egg yolk overflows, wheting your appetite.

This is the "Hot Sandwich (Tuna)" (920 yen). This hot sandwich is filled with plenty of tuna and also comes with a soft-boiled fried egg. It's hard to decide whether to go for the classic ham and cheese sandwich or this one.

Cute looking sweets

This is the "Gâteau au Chocolat" (720 yen). A rich and sticky gateau au chocolat topped with lightly sweetened fresh cream and Oreos.

The sweet and sour raspberries on the side add a nice accent.

"Croffle" (1,120 yen) comes with a choice of toppings: maple, honey, or chocolate.

I also like that it comes with vanilla ice cream.

This is "THE KYS Pudding" (620 yen). It has a very smooth texture. It is a dish that is particular about the balance of bittersweet caramel sauce and whipped cream.

This is the "Basque Cheesecake" (790 yen). It has a rich cheese flavor and is very creamy! The bitter and fragrant caramel on top adds a nice accent.

This is the "Fruit Cup Parfait" (from 550 yen, varies depending on the fruit) that can also be taken out. The fruit changes depending on the season, but the slightly sweet whipped cream and fruit go perfectly together. The cut-section is also cute, so it would make a great gift.

Refreshing in appearance and taste! Recommended squash

There are eight types of drinks available, including coffee, cafe au lait, and soft drinks. All drinks are available for takeout.

One of the most recommended dishes is squash, which looks cool!

They are all refreshing citrus flavors: "Lemon Squash," "Pingresu Squash," and "Orange Squash" (630 yen each).

The gradation of the syrup is very beautiful. Please mix it well before drinking.

The "Pingless Squash" that I tried was slightly sweet and refreshing, while the "Orange Squash" was light and refreshing with just the right amount of sourness. Both were delicious.

"We've just opened, so we don't have many products yet, but we plan to change the menu regularly and aim to be a restaurant that people will want to visit again and again," said a staff member.

They will soon be serving soft serve ice cream, so look forward to it!
