It's so cute you'll fall in love at first sight! A new, eye-catching cake has appeared at a popular cafe near Yakuin Station (Hirao, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City)

Hello. I'm Ayu.latte, a writer who loves going to cafes. I've been to over 1,600 cafes in total.

This time, we will introduce new sweets from a very popular Korean-style cafe.

Full of photo spots! The hugely popular Korean-style cafe "cafe+82" (Hirao, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)

Cafe +82 opened in Hirao, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City in July 2021. It is conveniently located just a two-minute walk from Nishitetsu Yakuin Station.

It is a very popular cafe that has expanded outside the prefecture, opening a store in Kokura in 2022 and a store in Osaka in July 2023.

On weekends, the restaurant may fill up immediately after opening!

By the way, the "+82" used in the store's name is apparently taken from Korea's international telephone number.

The inside of the store is covered with wood chips. It's soft and comfortable to walk on, and has a very luxurious feel!

The wooden interior creates a calm atmosphere.

There are several photo spots inside the store, one of which is a selfie space equipped with mirrors and chairs.

Recently, a heart-shaped background made of green has been added, giving it a new look.

And my top recommendation is this selfie machine!

It prints monochrome, instant-print style photos and has been hugely popular since its introduction in June this year. Please note that each person is limited to one photo.

The photos you take will be printed on thermal paper. Masking tape and pens are provided so you can doodle on them and stick them on the walls of the shop. Of course, you can take them home as a souvenir.

It's hard to decide which one to choose! Cakes lined up in the display case

The signature menu item since the store opened is the Korean-originated "Croffle," and there are currently five different flavors available (700 yen each)!

They try to bake them as soon as an order is placed, so they are delicious with a crispy exterior and chewy interior.

The photo shows the "Brown Cheese Crouffle" topped with plenty of brown cheese. The sweetness of the ice cream and the saltiness of the cheese are irresistible.

In addition, there are several types of cakes lined up in the showcase.

This "Cherry Gateau Chocolat" (700 yen) is a perfect combination of lightly sweet gateau chocolat and American cherries! It will be on sale until the end of September, so if you're interested, hurry up!

So cute you'll scream!? New sweets that are also visually appealing

Here are the new menu items introduced in July 2023.

First up is the "Puppy Chocolate Cake" (600 yen). As the name suggests, this cake has a puppy motif. There are cute paw prints on the plate.

And the "Bear Chocolate Cake" (650 yen). It is about 1.5 times the size of the Puppy Chocolate Cake. This one is dotted with heart marks.

Both have the same composition: fluffy chocolate sponge with strawberry sauce and fresh cream topped with cocoa-flavored cookies.

It's super cute and delicious too ♡

Because the cookies are hand-pressed and baked one by one, some of the cookies will have different expressions, even though they are the same, which is also part of the fun.

It was paired with my recommended drinks, the "Salt Latte" (iced only, 600 yen) and the "Matcha Latte" (both hot and iced, 580 yen).

"Salt Latte" is made by sprinkling salt on top of fluffy milk. If you drink it without stirring it, the salty milk and coffee mix together nicely in your mouth and it's delicious!

The "Matcha Latte" had a rich matcha flavor.

Now in its third year since opening, Cafe +82 is steadily evolving both its interior and its menu.
