A cafe enthusiast who has visited a total of 1,600 cafes visits this popular Ukiha cafe every year to try its exquisite peach sweets!
Hello, I'm ayu.latte, a writer who loves cafes.
Since I started visiting cafes with cafe lunches, I have visited a total of 1,600 cafes. Sometimes I visit 5 cafes in one day! (laughs)
This time, I'd like to introduce you to some special cafe sweets that I visit every year without fail.
Jingoro, a stylish cafe you'll want to visit again and again (Ukiha City)
"Jingoro" is located in Takatori, Yoshii-cho, Ukiha City.
As someone who enjoys visiting cafes, I have visited this cafe many times and it is one of my favorites.
Whenever I see this eye-catching view of the wooden building and greenery, my mind always fills with thoughts of the delicious sweets I'm about to enjoy, and I get excited even before I enter the shop.
The store's name, "Jingoro," is apparently the name of the owner's great-grandfather. What a lovely origin, isn't it?
They are open only three days a week, on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. You cannot reserve a seat in advance, but they will put up a "waiting list" in front of the door 20 minutes before they open at 11:00. You can write your name and car number on it and wait in your car, which is nice.
Wooden tools and baked goods! A store filled with "cuteness"
The interior of the store has high ceilings and is very spacious!
Jingoro is a "wooden tools and coffee shop," so there are many "wooden tools" such as plates and trays lined up. You can enjoy looking at them while you wait after ordering, or you can purchase them.
The handmade baked goods are available for both eating in and taking out. They are so cute that it's hard to choose, and they all look delicious.
Now is the only time you can eat it! The popular "Peach Creme d'Anjou" sells out every day
Well, sorry to keep you waiting. This is the dessert I visit every year without fail, "Peach Creme Dange" (720 yen). In 2023, it will be available for a limited time only until July 25th (Tuesday).
This cream dessert is an adapted version of the traditional dessert "Crémé d'Anjou" that originated in the Anjou region of France. It uses meringue and fresh cream.
Beneath it is a generous amount of fresh marinated peaches! The variety used on this day is "Akatsuki." They apparently use different tastier varieties depending on the day.
Be sure to enjoy the crispy texture of the baked meringue topping before it absorbs the moisture.
When you put the spoon through, it scoops up smoothly and without any resistance.
The peaches are super juicy! The balance between the creaminess of the créme d'ange and the sweetness of the peaches is just perfect, so much so that it's a shame to continue eating it all... But it's so delicious that you'll finish it in no time!
The pairing I chose this time was "Herbal Tea" (550 yen). The beautiful color is perfect for summer.
It is a blend of hibiscus, rose, and lavender. It starts out sour, but has a slightly sweet aftertaste that makes it easy to gulp down.
We also have hot herbal teas made with hibiscus-based tea leaves containing cinnamon, linden, anise, and more.
"Peach Creme d'Anjou" is so popular that it sells out every day. Why not go and try it? (Text by ayu.latte)
