A delicious breakfast near Kokura Station! A bakery that has long lines starts offering eat-in service in the mornings only (Kitakyushu City)

This time, I went to a bakery in the Kokura area that always has a long line of customers after hearing that they had started serving breakfast.

The hugely popular bakery that has long queues: SHUN PAN LABO (Uomachi, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City)

SHUN PAN LABO, located in Uomachi Gintengai, about a one-minute walk from Heiwadori Station on the Kitakyushu Monorail, is a hugely popular bakery that often has long queues of people waiting to get in.

I too am addicted to the deliciousness and stop by every time I go to Kokura.

The morning service started on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, based on the owner Shun Fujikawa's desire to "serve freshly baked, warm bread in the morning."

The morning menu is served from 8:30am to 10:30am (last orders at 10am).

The restaurant is Bistro Banquet, located on the second floor. In addition to the morning menu, you can also eat purchased bread in the cafe.

Can't decide which one to choose? 4 types of "Selectable Plate Set"

"SHUN PAN LABO" offers four different types of morning menu "Selectable Plate Set" (from 720 yen).

Comes with soup and a choice of drink (KIMBO hot coffee, iced coffee, or hot tea).

A PLATE "Crispy Croissant Croque Monsieur Plate"

The "Crispy Croissant Croque Monsieur Plate" (720 yen) features croissants flavored with cultured butter, topped with bacon, white sauce, and cheddar cheese.

When you lift it up, it's got great volume!

It has a mysterious texture that is light and crispy, and seems to disappear in an instant! The rich and mellow white sauce is the key to the flavor.

It was incredibly delicious!

B PLATE "Stretchy Mozzarella Cheese and Ajiho Egg Omelette Toast Plate"

The "Stretchy Mozzarella Cheese and Ajiho Egg Omelette Toast Plate" (750 yen) is a menu item that features a fluffy omelette, impressively stretchy mozzarella cheese, and homemade tomato sauce sandwiched between their proud "Long-aged Milk-rich Bread."

Both the bread and the omelette are fluffy and soft. You'll be amazed at the exquisitely soft texture. The fresh tomato sauce enhances the flavor even more.

And best of all, the generous amount of mozzarella cheese is irresistible! When you stretch it out, steam rises.

C PLATE "Quinoa and soft-boiled egg Caesar salad plate"

The "Quinoa and Warm Egg Caesar Salad Plate" (750 yen) comes with a Caesar salad containing quinoa, known as a superfood, juicy homemade chicken ham, and freshly baked baguette.

The baguette is delicious as is, or topped with salad or homemade chicken ham.

There are two types of baguettes: plain and a daily special, and on this day the daily special was the "fig & Roasted Walnut Baguette."

This hearty and healthy salad is the perfect way to start your day off right!

D PLATE "Soft-boiled egg A5 Japanese black beef curry toast plate"

The "Warm Egg A5 Japanese Black Beef Curry Toast Plate" (750 yen) is a plate of softly stewed A5 Japanese Black Beef tendon curry topped with seared cheddar cheese, and comes with salad, a warm egg, and toast.

The A5 Kuroge Wagyu beef is apparently sourced from the hugely popular yakiniku restaurant "Nakoshigyu" in Kokura.

The owner, Mr. Fujikawa, likes mild curry, so the curry has a mild, mild flavor. It's full of umami.

Adding a soft-boiled egg for a mellower flavor makes it even more delicious.

The cheese is roasted over a burner right in front of you, further enhancing its fragrant flavor.

It went perfectly with the crispy, mild-tasting bread!

The soup included in the set is made by a chef from Bistro Banquet.

By the way, if you buy bread at SHUN PAN LABO and eat it in, you can purchase a drink separately for 300 yen. You can also add soup for an additional 50 yen.

The freshly baked bread was incredibly delicious, something you can only enjoy in the morning!
