Three exquisite matcha sweets at once! A greedy set that appears in a cafe that's like a secret base (Oobacho, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)

This time, I would like to introduce a cafe with a very nice white exterior. I heard that they have started serving new sweets, so I went there right away.

Alu, a three-story white cafe resembling a secret base (Oobacho, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)

Alu is located in Taihaku-cho, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. It is about a 7-minute walk from Gofukumachi Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Hakozaki Line, and is located in a back alley just off Taihaku-dori, which connects Hakata Station and Fukuoka Sunpalace.

It is a three-story building with a pure white exterior that gives it the feel of a secret base.

Eat-in spaces are on the second and third floors

After placing your order on the first floor, you exit the store through the outer door and head to the eat-in space on the second and third floors.

This is the second floor. It has been renovated, and there are more orange interior decorations, so it has a different atmosphere from before.

We then climbed the stairs leading to the third floor. Although I have been here many times, this was my first time going to the third floor!

A must-have for matcha lovers! A very attractive sweets set

Starting May 20, 2023, the "Matcha Sweets Set" will be available, a must-have for matcha lovers (1,100 yen, available until the end of June, but the exact end date has not yet been decided).

This plate allows you to enjoy three different types of matcha at once: "Matcha Pudding," "Matcha Chiffon," and "Matcha Macaroons."

All of the matcha sweets and drinks at "alu" are made using luxurious, carefully selected matcha from "Yamashina Tea Shop Main Store" in Amagi, Asakura City.

The plump and slightly firm "Matcha Pudding" becomes "jiggly" when the plate is slightly shaken, and even its shape is thrilling ♡

The matcha flavor is very rich! The bittersweet matcha flavor fills your mouth. This is an excellent pudding with an excellent combination of bean paste, fresh cream, and matcha.

You can also enjoy the matcha pudding as a single item (600 yen) ♡

The "Matcha Chiffon" is moist and fluffy! Matcha is used not only in the batter but also in the cream, so you can fully enjoy the rich matcha flavor. Savoring the chiffon and cream together will make you feel happy.

Also on this plate are two small "Matcha Macarons," which can only be enjoyed on this plate.

The matcha ganache sandwiched between the macarons is simply delicious. The unique texture of the macarons and the sticky ganache make a perfect combination!

All the sweets in the Matcha Sweets Set were delicious. It was the perfect plate for those who can't decide what to eat, or for those who want to share.

We also recommend the matcha sweets other than the sweets set!

There are other matcha sweets as well. This is the "Matcha Terrine" (600 yen), which was released in April. It is a rich terrine with plenty of matcha kneaded into it, and it melts in your mouth.

This item is lightly sweetened so that you can enjoy the rich aroma of matcha to the fullest. It goes perfectly with the generous amount of condensed milk cream.

For drinks, why not try a matcha drink?

This time, I ordered the newly released "Matcha Soda" (600 yen) to go with the dessert plate.

A cup that lets you enjoy the rich aroma of matcha and a refreshing taste. The addition of sweet and sour lemon makes it the perfect refreshing drink for the coming season!

The syrup will sink to the bottom, so make sure to stir it well before drinking.

And this is the standard menu item, "Matcha Latte" (650 yen). Plenty of milk and matcha give it a bittersweet taste. Since it's only sweetened by the milk, it's perfect as a dessert.
