You're missing out if you don't try them! Three cream-based sweets from FamilyMart that even people who don't like sweet things should try
Hello. I love finding cheap and delicious food! I'm Maruchin, a writer.
This may be out of the blue, but do you like cream-filled sweets? The texture that melts in your mouth is irresistible, isn't it?
Cream-filled sweets are also popular at convenience stores, with new varieties coming out one after another, and they are now all available at Family Mart!
This time, we will introduce three cream-filled sweets from FamilyMart, including a new product that has just been released.
1: Chewy dough packed with deliciousness! "Family Mart The Crepe Cookies & Cream"
First up is "Family Mart The Crepe Cookies & Cream" (228 yen).
This dessert consists of crunchy vanilla whipped cream and chocolate-coated cocoa crumble wrapped in crepe dough.
The crepe dough has a chewy texture! It's so well-made that it's delicious even if you just eat the dough by itself.
The slightly bitter taste of the cocoa matches perfectly with the milky whipped cream. The cocoa crumble has large grains, so you can enjoy the different texture with the cream.
Although it may look compact, it is packed with deliciousness and is a very satisfying dish.
2: A slightly bitter, adult taste! "Coffee Cream Taiyaki"
Next up is the "Coffee Cream Taiyaki" (158 yen). As the name suggests, this taiyaki is made with coffee dough and filled with coffee custard cream.
Nowadays there are many evolved versions of taiyaki, but coffee cream is probably quite rare! I was very curious to know what it would taste like, so I gave it a try.
It is sold refrigerated and can be eaten cold or heated in the microwave.
When you cut it open...
Both the cream and the inside of the dough are coffee colored! It's truly all about coffee.
The coffee cream has a thick texture and is not too sweet. The rich aroma of coffee spreads softly in your mouth, giving it a slightly bitter, adult taste. And the chewy texture of the dough is addictive.
I think this is a great new taiyaki flavor! I would especially recommend it to people who don't like overly sweet desserts.
3. Rich and buttery ♡ "Chilled Japanese Apple Kouign Amann (Custard Whip)"
The last item is the chilled Japanese apple kouign amann (custard whipped cream) (250 yen).
Kouign amann is a type of traditional pastry from the Brittany region of France. Its dough is made with plenty of butter, and is characterized by a crunchy caramel-like surface and a chewy, elastic interior.
As the name suggests, this is a kouign amann that is sold refrigerated and is eaten cold.
When you take it out of the bag, the sweet aroma of butter hits you...♡ It's sure to whet your appetite.
It also contains whipped custard and apples in syrup.
The dough is made up of many overlapping layers, so it is fluffy and full of air! You can really taste the richness of the butter. The caramelized surface is fragrant and rich in flavor.
The creamy cream has a sweet vanilla aroma, and the crunchy apples in syrup add a nice accent to the cream.
The cream has a refreshing tartness from the apples, so it's easy to eat even in the hot weather ahead. It's a hearty and satisfying dish!
The FamilyMart sweets introduced this time are rich in variety! They are easy to eat even for those who don't like sweet things, and they are all delicious beyond the level of convenience store sweets, so you'd be missing out if you don't try them ♡ Be sure to check them out at the store.
