Great as a gift! "A new sensation when eaten chilled" Takeaway lemon cake specialty store (Otemon, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)
Hello! I'm hicho_cafe, who introduces cafes in Fukuoka on Instagram.
This time, we will introduce some popular take-out sweets that make great souvenirs or gifts.
Takeaway lemon cake specialty store "Raison d'etre Fukuoka Ohori Park Store" (Otemon, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City)
Raison d'etre, based in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, is a specialty store for lemon cakes made with domestically produced lemons.
Raison d'etre Fukuoka Ohori Park store, located about a 3-minute walk from Ohori Park Station on the Subway Airport Line, opened in December 2022.
There were lemons growing in front of the shop.
The cat painted on the door looks like it's looking at a lemon, which is interesting.
When I went inside, I saw rows of delicious looking products.
Enjoy the new sensation when chilled! The signature dish "Lemon Cake"
The most popular item is the signature dish, "Lemon Cake" (420 yen).
All of the ingredients used are domestically produced, including Setouchi lemons and Hokkaido butter.
It has a fluffy texture and is delicious even at room temperature, but I was told that it is recommended to chill it in the refrigerator for about an hour before eating, so I tried it.
It doesn't harden even when chilled and has a moist texture that makes it delicious!
The freshness of the lemon and the gentle sweetness of this lemon cake are addictive. If you cut it thinly before eating, you can enjoy a more moist texture (apparently the texture reminds you of yokan!).
In addition to the regular size (photo below, left), they also sell the "2P Petit Lemon Cake" (400 yen, photo below, right), which is a set of two bite-sized cakes.
The only difference between them other than size is that the regular size has a sugar coating on the surface, while the petite size has no coating.
The petite size is recommended for those who want a quick meal.
Don't miss the limited edition pies and croissants!
Besides lemon cake, they also sold lemon pies and croissants.
This "Lemon Butter Cream Pie" (450 yen) will be on sale from 11:30 and is limited to 10 per day.
The crispy pie was filled with plenty of refreshing lemon cream, making it a very satisfying pie.
The "Lemon Croissants" here come in three varieties: "Plain" (250 yen), "Custard" (350 yen), and "Lemon Butter" (350 yen). They are baked every day around 12:30 and put on display in the store.
This time, I purchased the "Custard" flavor, which is said to be the most popular.
The dough is made with butter from France, and the inside is filled with plenty of lemon-flavored custard cream, which goes perfectly with the crispy croissant.
The original illustrations are cute! The "Paper Box" is also perfect as a souvenir or gift.
"Paper Box," featuring original, cute illustrations, was also on sale.
The sizes available are "S" (300 yen, photo below), "M" (350 yen), and "L" (400 yen), and the contents can be customized according to your budget.
The store opens at 11am and closes when they're sold out. If you want to be sure to get one, we recommend ordering online the day before and picking it up at the store.
Why not try this innovative lemon cake as a souvenir or gift, or as a treat for yourself? (Text by hicho_cafe)
