[Maebara Chuo, Itoshima City] OKUZOE SEIPAN
"OKUZOE SEIPAN" is just a few minutes' walk from Chikuzen-Maebaru Station on the JR Chikuhi Line.
The shop opened in March 2021 on the first floor of a house diagonally across from Oimatsu Shrine.
The only bread served here is simple, made only with wheat, salt and water.
Although the number of options may increase due to different types of flour, there are six basic menu items. *Due to rising raw material prices, prices may change at any time. Please check the sales price at the store.
The menu card lists a description of the bread, the name of the flour used, and the flour mill. Large loaves of bread will be cut into 1/2 or 1/4 pieces to order.
This is "COUNTRY SOUR 1/4."
Made with Levain yeast, the crust (outer layer) has a dark, rough texture, while the crumb (inner layer) is surprisingly soft and moist, with a perfect balance of sourness and umami.
This is "BAGUETTE".
The moment you bite into it, you'll experience the soft sourness and flavor that only sourdough can provide. As the dough melts, a subtle sweetness appears, making this a distinctive delicacy.
This is the only bread with filling, "RAISIN & OATS."
It has a juicy taste with plenty of raisins and oats kneaded into it.
Other standard menu items include "COUNTRY MILD," which has a rich flavor and a subtle acidity, "CIABATTA," which has a chewy crumb, and "WHOLE WHEAT100," which features a strong flavor made from 100% whole wheat flour.
At the cash register, they sell croutons, which change daily, as well as cookies for dogs called "DOGGY BISCUIT."

[Shinohara-Nishi, Itoshima City] Boulangerie NOAN
On busy days, Boulangerie NOAN has 70 different menu items on the menu.
This bakery is always bringing new ideas to the market by offering branch branches, mail order frozen bread, delivery, and the sale of local breads.
While an increasing number of bakeries are selling out and closing in the afternoon, their enthusiasm and attitude of "Even if we lose some bread, we'll keep baking as much as we can until closing time because we're in a residential area with many customers who can only come in the evenings" makes us feel their pride as a local bakery that is rooted in the community.
This is the local bread "ITOSHIMA" (1,100 yen).
This local bread is packed with the brand essence of Itoshima and is popular nationwide.
This is "Mentaiko French Bread" (430 yen).
This fragrant French bread is covered in a butter sauce made with copious amounts of Spicy Fish Eggs. It's an addictive delicacy.
This is "Walnut and Cranberry" (420 yen).
The craftsman's attention to detail is apparent in the way it perfectly balances the three elements of moisture, flavor, and lightness. The walnuts, which are added as an accent to the lightly sweet berries, are exquisitely presented!
The rest of the menu items are mostly traditional breads without any pretensions to exoticism.

They are all baked fresh every morning, so they're fresh and fluffy!
This is "Melon Bread (Plain)" (216 yen).
The crispy texture of the thick cookie dough and the fluffy texture inside are irresistible.
Among the plain melon bread, there are three kinds of "melon bread with cream" filled with plenty of homemade cream.
One of them is this "White Cream Melon Bread" (421 yen).
The moment you bite into it, the rich, milky cream spreads in your mouth. It's packed so full it looks like it might overflow, but it's not too sweet so you should be able to eat it all in no time.
This is the "Fruit Eclair Melon Bread" (1,080 yen), a cream-filled melon bread covered in chocolate.
It contains oranges, kiwis, and bananas, and the types of fruit change slightly each week.
The cookie dough goes perfectly with the sweet chocolate and cream, and the juicy flavor of the fruit adds a nice accent.
All the melon bread is so big that you can't even see your hands. If you can't finish it, they recommend freezing it in the freezer and eating it like ice cream.
