We send out information from Fukuoka every day that will make you say,"Yeah, that's right!"

My name is Masayo Sakamoto, a beauty writer who loves MUJI.

Frozen foods are convenient when you're busy. They are high quality, from vegetables to cooked foods, and many people probably stock them up. Recently, there has also been a wide variety of sweets and breads available.

That's why we want to draw your attention to MUJI's frozen foods. The lineup of breads and sweets that are perfect for breakfast, snacks, or when you're feeling a bit hungry is expanding. Today, we'd like to introduce three recommended breads that can also be enjoyed as sweets.

1: Thick-sliced French toast soaked all the way through!

"Thick-sliced French toast" is 250 yen per piece.

It is a small loaf of bread, about 8cm in diameter, but about 3cm thick, so it is satisfying to eat.

"Defrost in the microwave at 500W for 3 minutes or 600W for 2 minutes 30 seconds, then bake in a toaster oven or oven until the outside is crispy." It takes a little bit of work, but it may be easier than making French toast from scratch.

"It's made with homemade bread, milk, and eggs, and is moist and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It has a refined taste with a strong egg flavor.

Since it is not a sweet French toast, it can be enjoyed as a meal with bacon and salad, or as a dessert with ice cream or whipped cream.

2. Cinnamon Roll: An adult treat with the aroma of western liquor

This "Cinnamon Roll" costs 250 yen each.

The dough is kneaded with cinnamon, baked until fluffy and topped with sugar frosting.

You can eat it immediately by just popping it in the microwave, so you can easily enjoy freshly made food.

Microwave for 50 seconds at 600W, and the delicious aroma of cinnamon greets you when you open the oven. It's soft and fluffy when you hold it in your hand, and has a moist and chewy texture when you eat it.

It has a light aroma of alcohol, like an adult cinnamon roll. There is a warning on the package to avoid it for children and those with low alcohol tolerance.

The slightly melted frosting whets the appetite, and although they are slightly larger in size, they can be eaten in one go. They are perfect for breakfast, or as a dessert when you have a sweet craving.

However, each piece contains 498 kcal, so if you eat them as a snack, you may want to adjust your meals before and after.

3. "An Croissant" - A perfect balance of sweet and salty flavors

The "An Croissant" is a box of two sweet bean paste wrapped in salty croissant dough for 390 yen.

Instead of two smaller sizes, it contains two standard sizes, about 15cm long.

The surface is sprinkled with poppy seeds, giving it the feel of an anpan (sweet bean bun). You can enjoy the buttery texture of a croissant and the sweet bean paste filling, a perfect combination of Japanese and Western flavors.

Like French toast, this takes a little effort as it needs to be defrosted in the microwave and then baked in the oven or toaster, but when it comes out it has a crispy exterior, fluffy interior and a perfect balance of sweet and salty!

The amount of bean paste is just right, not too much and not too little, and the warm bean paste is comforting. The crunchy poppy seeds are a nice accent. This is also suitable for a variety of occasions, from breakfast to snacks.

I've always felt that frozen bread and sweets lose their flavor and are not tasty, so I've avoided them until now, but the products introduced this time let me enjoy the freshly baked goodness in its entirety. They have a best-before date of about six months, so if you stock up on them, they'll come in handy for breakfast or snacks on busy days. There are other products in the lineup, so be sure to check them out. (Text by Sakamoto Masayo)
