A free night event combining history and digital art will be held at Maizuru Park in Fukuoka Castle.
[November 7th - December 14th, 2025] A space that combines history and digital art will appear in Fukuoka at night! "Fukuoka Lights Festival 2025 ~Castle Festival of Light~" (Fukuoka Castle/Kourokan Area)
The Fukuoka Lights Festival 2025 - Castle of Light Festival - (free admission) will be held from Friday, November 7th to Sunday, December 14th, 2025.

Based on the concept of "past and future" of Fukuoka Castle and Maizuru Park, the "Night Banquet" will awaken historical memories through digital technology, creating a digital "Castle of Light" and a realistic "Castle Food Stall Street." This is an event where you can enjoy a world of light like never before.
Introducing a variety of content that combines history and digital
During the period, a wonderful content that combines the history of Fukuoka Castle with innovation through digital technology will be on display.
A synchronized light and sound show at the restored Shiomi Tower
The Shiomi Tower, which was recently restored in March 2025, will be the setting for this iconic light show, featuring synchronized light and sound using lasers and projection mapping. This is a must-see highlight, as it heralds a new chapter in Fukuoka Castle's history.

Participatory digital art
The Omote-Gomon Gate has been recreated as a gate of light. At the entrance, you receive a lantern and draw a fortune before starting your tour.

If you hold up the lantern distributed at the entrance to the sacred tree in the center of the cherry blossom garden, the entire garden will be lit up, allowing you to enjoy a hands-on experience.

On the other side of the giant noren curtain, a projection mapping of a crane, a design associated with Maizuru Castle, is displayed.

The fantastical "infinite space"
A large snake, the zodiac animal for 2025, sits on the wisteria trellis in the cherry blossom garden. The mirrored windows create an infinitely expanding space, enveloping you in a fantastical world.

A rich selection of gourmet food! "Castle Food Stall Street" where history and food intersect
Along the weeping cherry blossom lined street, you'll find a food stall street offering a mix of food and culture from ancient times to the present!

In addition to popular gourmet food to eat on the go, there will be 13 stalls, including nostalgic experience stalls such as shooting galleries (the food stall area opens at 5pm).

Eel chimaki (Unagichaya), yakitori (Sumiya 108), pork bone ramen (Yatai Tamachan), Hakata salt and octopus (Hakata salt and octopus), Hakata motsu yakisoba (Motsuyaki Motsunabe Ura Meshiya), grilled squid (JJKitchen), fried horse mackerel (Sanyo Shokudo), dumplings and ochazuke (Basebom - sweets), strawberry candy (Kajikachaya), shooting gallery and goldfish scooping (Shimeichi Shoten), etc.
The fantastic lights will shine against the crisp, clear Fukuoka sky, making for a truly enjoyable experience.
As a related event, the illumination event "Ohori Park Japanese Garden SORA" is also being held in the neighboring Ohori Park (for details, please seeFrom here). They are within walking distance, so it might be fun to enjoy both.
