[2025 Christmas Advent] Fukuoka's winter illuminations will be illuminated! Held in various locations throughout the prefecture, including Hakata and Tenjin

The temperature is gradually dropping and winter is approaching.

This time, we will introduce you to a winter tradition in Fukuoka that will begin on Saturday, November 1st, 2025!

[November 1st to December 25th, 2025] The city of Fukuoka will be enveloped in light! "Christmas Advent" will be held

Starting with the Shibata Sangyo presents CHRISTMAS MARKET in Hikari no Machi Hakata on Saturday, November 1, 2025, Christmas Advent will kick off in various locations throughout Fukuoka City. The entire city of Fukuoka will be enveloped in beautiful illuminations.

In 2023, the Fukuoka Christmas Market will be renamed "Christmas Advent" and the venue will be expanded. This popular event has attracted a total of approximately 12 million people.

This year, in addition to venues in Fukuoka Prefecture, the event will also be coming to Tokyo for the first time! "Tokyo Christmas Advent in Ueno Park" will be held at Ueno Park Hakamagoshi Square from Wednesday, November 19th to Thursday, December 25th, 2025.

We will introduce 9 venues in Fukuoka Prefecture. Please note that the opening dates and times vary depending on the venue.

Shibata Sangyo presents CHRISTMAS MARKET in the City of Light, Hakata

"Shibata Sangyo presents CHRISTMAS MARKET in Hikari no Machi Hakata" is a row of white huts inspired by Parisian Christmas markets in the "JR Hakata Station Square." There are about 30 shops selling food, miscellaneous goods, and more.

LANDIC presents Nakasu Hikari no Advent *Illuminations only

"Nakasu Kibo no Hikari," which began in 2020, was renamed "Nakasu Hikari no Advent" last year. Now in its sixth year, this year's dazzling illuminations will light up Nakasu Chuo Dori, Meiji Dori, and Fukuhaku Deai Bridge.

The lighting ceremony will be held at Fukuhaku Deai Bridge from 6:00 PM on Tuesday, November 4th. The sight of all the illuminations lighting up at once is truly spectacular!

KBC FESTA de SANTA

Approximately 130 Santa Claus statues from around the world will be gathered in front of the fantastically lit-up "Kyu Fukuoka Prefectural Public Hall Guest House"!

You will be greeted by not only a life-sized Santa, but also a Santa so tall you have to look up, and a Santa from a tropical country wearing sunglasses and short sleeves. Be sure to take a commemorative photo with them.

QTnet presents Forest of Light

Located in the center of Tenjin is the Prefectural Tenjin Central Park. This green park in the heart of the city is decorated with illuminations and transformed into a fantastical world.

Following on from the glowing car object that was popular last year, there will be photo spots all over the venue, including a giant heart object, a Santa train, a skiing bear, a nutcracker, and a flying Santa.

From Friday, November 21st to Thursday, December 18th, from 6:20 PM and 8:20 PM, there will also be free circus shows featuring top artists from around the world. This year's highlight will be the outdoor trapeze! Don't miss the diverse acts, including aerial silks that soar through the air, contortion that displays incredible flexibility, and juggling that combines light and music.

CHRISTMAS MARKET in Passage

Under the sparkling Christmas tree, you can enjoy a stylish atmosphere at Elgala Passage Square in the Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin store. Christmas-themed dishes and mulled wine will be on sale, as well as ornaments and Christmas goods.

There will also be a special Christmas stage where artists and performers will appear to liven up the venue (live performances only on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and December 24th and 25th).

Alliance presents TENJIN CHRISTMAS MARKET

Alliance presents TENJIN CHRISTMAS MARKET will be held at the Fukuoka City Hall West Side Community Square. Passing through the Schwippbogen (arch), a traditional Christmas decoration that originated in the village of Seiffen, Germany, you will enter a world of light. You will be enveloped in the illuminations that spread out like a roof, the central vision tower, and the lights of several large trees lined up.

At the venue, you can enjoy Christmas gourmet food along with mulled wine and German beer.

Christmas Gate Park in Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City

Once you pass through the symbolic gate of Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City, you'll be greeted by a 360-degree view of illuminations. You can enjoy special gourmet food, illuminations, and music that are different from those at the Hakata and Tenjin venues.

Christmas Market ICE WORLD in Momochihama

A Christmas tree and a giant Santa monument will be set up in front of Fukuoka Tower, the symbol of Fukuoka.

In addition, the 26m x 17m outdoor ice skating rink "Seaside Momochi ICESKATING PARK '25-'26" will also be open, allowing you to fully enjoy the winter atmosphere.

A new version of the popular original mug has been released every year!

This year, the "Snow Day Mug" will be released as a new addition to the ever-popular original mugs, which sell out every year. The mug features a picture by artist Chito Tanaka, who also created the main visual for "Christmas Advent."

The "Rainy Day Mug," which also features an impressive illustration by Tanaka Chisato, will be sold at three venues - "QTnet presents Forest of Light," "KBC FESTA de SANTA," and "Alliance presents TENJIN CHRISTMAS MARKET" - only in the event of rain.

In addition, limited edition mugs will be available at venues in Fukuoka (Hakata, Tenjin, Chuo Park, Kihinkan, Momochihama, Kokura), as well as Ueno Park in Tokyo.

Enjoy classical music at the "Christmas Advent" venue!

For 32 days from Thursday, November 20th to Sunday, December 21st, 2025, the Fukuoka Classical Music Festival will be held at concert halls and Christmas Advent venues in Fukuoka City, allowing people to enjoy music, mainly classical music, up close.

The opening will take place on Thursday, November 20th at the "Alliance presents TENJIN CHRISTMAS MARKET" venue, and will feature tenor singer Masashi Akikawa.

Additionally, performances by top artists are scheduled during the period, including the internationally acclaimed pianist Ryuma Takagi and the young violinist Fumiaki Miura, who is said to be number one in both talent and popularity.
