Immerse yourself in the world of Disney animation! "Photography allowed in all areas" - Kyushu's first event experience report (Fukuoka City Museum)

Hello! I'm Hakata Aya, a writer who loves hot information about Fukuoka.

This time, we will introduce the fully immersive event "Disney Animation Immersive Experience," which will start touring Japan in Roppongi, Tokyo in April 2023 and finally make its first appearance in Kyushu on October 13, 2025!

Get goosebumps with excitement! Enter the world of the movie at the "Disney Animation Immersive Experience" (Fukuoka City Museum)

The Disney Animation Immersive Experience is a completely new event that allows you to experience everything from early Disney animation masterpieces to the latest hits in a way that makes you feel as if you're inside the movie. This event is only being held in Fukuoka in Kyushu.

Witness Simba's birth on the savanna, go to Zootopia with Judy Hopps, ride a magic carpet with Aladdin and Jasmine, and enter a mysterious house filled with magical powers with Mirabelle...

You can immerse yourself in the world of Disney with the powerful images on the giant screen and the immersive music.

The venue is the special exhibition room of the Fukuoka City Museum in Momochihama, Sawara Ward, Fukuoka City.

Even before you enter the venue, chairs are set up that will make you feel like a lovely princess, so you can enjoy taking photos right away!

As soon as you step inside the venue, you'll find yourself in a fantastical blue space, making you feel as if you're under the magic of Disney!

What's great about this event is that you are allowed to take photos and videos in all areas! However, the use of flash photography, selfie sticks, and other photography aids is prohibited. Please note that there is a two-minute limit on the videos shown on the giant screen. However, you can stop the video and take another one. Make sure to follow the rules and have fun.

At the entrance, there is a photo booth featuring "Steamboat Willie," the origin of Disney, where you can take a photo of yourself riding on a steamboat with Mickey Mouse. It's a moment that really builds up anticipation for the upcoming exhibits.

And finally, we head to the main exhibition area, the giant screen!

The left and right walls are covered in giant screens, and the floor reflects the light from the screen. It's wider than a movie screen, so it feels like you're being enveloped, creating a truly impressive experience!

The same content is displayed on either side, so it is recommended to choose the side that is more open.

The front is the center of the image, but I found it easier to see from the corner, as I could see the whole venue.

The video was specially edited for this event and is divided into two parts, A and B, each about 20 minutes long.

Mickey appeared on stage and the video for Part A began. The classic song "Circle of Life" played, and the show moved on to the touching scene of Simba's birth from "The Lion King." Then, along with "Try Everything," the show moved on to "Zootopia." The excitement only intensified.

Next came "Aladdin." Along with the famous song "A Whole New World," a journey through the sky unfolded across the screen. You felt as if you were really inside the movie, flying through the night sky with Aladdin and Jasmine on a magic carpet.

Characters connected to "Peter Pan" and "Big Hero 6" appear one after another in the sky. It's fun to see not only characters from the main works, but also a mix of animation footage from new and old works.

The final scene is the famous scene from "Tangled" where the lanterns rise into the sky! It's so fantastical that even non-fans are sure to be enchanted.

In the B section, you'll also see footage from recent hit movies such as "Moana" and "Frozen." The final soap bubble performance is also a must-see!

The Villains Room: A room filled with fascinating villains

"Villains Room," which focuses on the villains who are essential to the story, is also a powerful experience on the big screen!

I am also drawn to the charm of villains, such as Ursula from "The Little Mermaid," the Witch from "Snow White," Gaston from "Beauty and the Beast," Scar from "The Lion King," and Hades from "Hercules."

There is a mechanism on the floor that moves in response to the movement of your feet, so be sure to pay attention to that as well.
