We would like to introduce you to an October-only event being held at a long-established inn located about 30 minutes by car from the center of Fukuoka City.

[Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays in October] Special event celebrating the 160th anniversary of the company's founding! "Plate Exhibition" held at "Daimaru Besso" (Chikushino City)

Daimaru Besso is a traditional Japanese inn in Futsukaichi Onsen, Chikushino City, Fukuoka Prefecture. To commemorate its 160th anniversary, this summer they held an exhibition of the 107-year-old pure wooden Taishotei inn. The exhibition attracted approximately 2,000 visitors, and the special dinner party was fully booked every day, creating a huge response.

The next special project will focus on the tableware used at Daimaru Besso and will feature a plate exhibition at the restaurant Gin no Tsubo from 10:00 to 17:00 on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays in October 2025.

In addition to exhibiting over 1,000 precious plates that have enhanced the cuisine of Daimaru Besso over the years, there will also be miscellaneous items for sale, and you can enjoy breakfast, which is usually only available to guests, on a day trip.

*No reservations are required for the exhibition and sales event, but reservations are required for the dinner party.

Rediscover the value! A tableware exhibition where you can take your time to appreciate the items

At the exhibition, you can take your time to appreciate and appreciate the tableware that you would normally only come into contact with in conjunction with food.

From the delicate small bowls used in kaiseki cuisine to unusually shaped dishes and rare masterpieces, each one is full of elegance and has the appearance of a work of art.

Approximately 1,000 pieces of playful and vintage tableware will be on display, making it a great place to learn. You'll be able to rediscover the value of tableware as a "great supporting actor" that enhances your food.

In addition to the exhibition, mismatched tableware that was actually used at Daimaru Besso will be sold at special prices.

The collection will focus on a wide range of small bowls, large plates, sake cups, and other tableware that can easily be incorporated into your everyday dining table. As the items are limited in quantity, it is difficult to come across the same item again, making it truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

It's a special opportunity to welcome it into your home and continue enjoying it until you start using it every day.

A special breakfast is usually only available to guests staying overnight!

During the event, a special dinner will be held where day visitors can enjoy the hotel's signature breakfast, which is normally only available to guests staying at Daimaru Besso.

The main feature of this event is that you can enjoy a Japanese breakfast made with ingredients from all over Kyushu, served on tableware displayed in the exhibition hall. You can fully enjoy Japan's "breakfast culture."

The restaurant is divided into four sessions: 10:30-11:30, 12:00-13:00, 13:30-14:30, and 15:00-16:00, and costs 3,000 yen per meal. Reservations are required in advance, so if you're interested, be sure to make your reservation early!
