
[Fukuoka Event] Enjoy autumn in nature! Umi-no-Nakamichi "Flower Festival" (9/27 - 11/9)

We will introduce events at Uminonakamichi National Government Seaside Park that you can enjoy in the natural surroundings.
[September 27th - November 9th] "Uminaka*Hanamatsuri 2025" will be held at Uminonakamichi Seaside Park!
Located in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Uminonakamichi Seaside Park is a vast park stretching approximately 6 kilometers from east to west and covering an area of approximately 350 hectares. You can enjoy seasonal flowers and interact with cute animals.
The major autumn event, "Uminaka Flower Festival 2025," will be held from Saturday, September 27th to Sunday, November 9th, 2025. During the festival, the park will be decorated with autumn flowers, including one million cosmos, bright red kochia, and pink waves of Muehlenbergia capillaris. This year, a new flower field of red buckwheat will also be introduced.
There will also be plenty of exciting events to enjoy during the autumn season, including the arts, food, and sports.

Cosmos
The cosmos on Flower Hill are a representative sight of Uminaka in the fall. The best time to see them is from early to late October, when about 1 million flowers paint the entire hill pink.

Kochia
These are the fluffy kochia, also known as broom trees, lined up in the "Rainbow Colorful Flower Bed." The vivid green leaves begin to change color in late September, and you can enjoy their bright red color from early to late October.

Muhlenbergia capillaris
Muehlenbergia capillaris is a type of grass with beautiful red spikes. From mid-October to early November, approximately 1,080 Muehlenbergia capillaris plants will paint the Colorful Flower Bed a gentle, elegant red.

Red buckwheat
This year marks the first appearance of the "red buckwheat" flower. From mid-October to early November, a red flower field of approximately 75,000 "red buckwheat" plants will spread out near the Nishi Cycling Center.

Autumn Roses
Approximately 1,200 "Autumn Roses" of approximately 220 varieties will be on display. The best time to see them is from mid-October to late November. A cafe will be set up in the Rose Garden on weekends and holidays from October 25th (Sat) to November 16th (Sun).

Flower Museum
The Flower Museum is themed as a "roofless flower museum." Until mid-November, it will be decorated with dahlias, cockscombs, and salvia.

In October, Halloween decorations will be put up, transforming the park into a wonderful photo spot.

Perennial Garden
Located in a corner of the "Toy Box Flower Bed" is the "Perennial Garden," a naturalistic garden mainly made up of perennial plants. Until late November, the autumn leaves of the grass flutter in the breeze, creating a beautiful, wave-like landscape.

Outdoor Park in UMINAKA
"Outdoor Park in UMINAKA" will be held on Saturday, September 27th and Sunday, September 28th. This year, the venue will be moved to the "Light and Wind Square" overlooking Hakata Bay, adding new attractions. In addition to new waterside experiences such as marine activities and environmental education programs, hot air balloons and camping will also be making a comeback.

Kite Flying Festival Whale Balloon Kite
On Saturday, October 11th and Sunday, October 12th, the "Kite Flying Festival: Whale Balloon Kite" will be held at the Great Lawn Square. This is a representative event of Uminaka's spring and autumn seasons, and giant whale and manta ray balloon kites will fly through the sky.
The ever-popular kite-making workshop will also be held at the same time.

~Animals x Art~ Project
The "Animals x Art Project" will be held on September 21st (Sunday), 23rd (Tuesday, national holiday), 27th (Saturday) and November 3rd (Monday, national holiday).

In Animal Crossing, you can create animal-themed crafts. You can enjoy painting art and making wool mascots.

Uminaka Wellness Festival
The first Uminaka Wellness Festival will be held on Saturday, October 25th. With the theme of "mental and physical health," there will be many programs that anyone can try. You can discover your own unique wellness. Scheduled events include physical fitness tests, boccia, and mölkky.

New! Squirrel monkey viewing spot
A new spot has been added to Squirrel Monkey Island in Animal Crossing. You can observe over 100 squirrel monkeys from a shelter on the island. Feeding experiences will also be held on weekends and holidays during the Uminaka Flower Festival 2025.
