A hot spring sommelier reports! A new lotion bath has been added to the super public bathhouse (Kasuga City) that has been renovated to make it even more appealing.

This super public bath can fulfill a wide range of requests, from "I have a little free time" to "I want to relax for a whole day!"

Among them, one place you can enjoy a reasonably priced bath in Fukuoka is Fukunoyu, which has four locations in Fukuoka city and its surrounding areas!

Fukunoyu Kasuga branch, which had been undergoing renovations for a long time, reopened in July 2025!

What has changed? I, Tsubaking, a certified "Hot Spring Sommelier" (certified by the Hot Spring Sommelier Association) and a big fan of public baths and saunas, will be reporting on my experience! The key words are "sauna and beauty updates"!

[Men's Bath/Women's Bath] Löyly now available in the high-temperature sauna!

The level of the sauna has been greatly improved with this renovation!

The biggest change is the introduction of "auto-louver" in the high-temperature saunas (both men's and women's).

Löyly is a technique where water is poured onto stones heated by a sauna stove, which generates steam and increases the humidity inside the sauna room. This causes the perceived temperature to rise sharply, even though the temperature remains the same, and boosts sweating!

It is held every hour at 30 minutes past the hour, so try to time it accordingly!

Also, since the renovation, the stadium has been remodeled with large changes in height, so the temperature changes greatly depending on where you sit.

Sauna beginners or those who want to take it easy should sit on the lower level, while sauna lovers or those who want to sweat profusely should sit on the upper level!

[Men's Bath] Now available in the open-air space! A new sauna with a dark, relaxing atmosphere

With this renovation, the outdoor relaxation space in both the men's and women's baths has also been expanded.

In addition, a new sauna has been created in the open-air space of the men's bath!

The bright interior is equipped with a television, making it a departure from the so-called "saunas at super public bathhouses."

The lighting is dim, there is no TV, and soothing music is played in the room, creating a relaxing atmosphere even during times when many families visit.

A regular sauna is nice, but I personally really like a quiet sauna where you can meditate.

The temperature is set slightly lower than a high-temperature sauna, but don't underestimate it!

Amazingly, auto-louvering occurs three times per hour (at 00 minutes, 20 minutes, and 40 minutes)!

What's more, immediately after the loyly, the ceiling fan started operating, so the humid air enveloped my body, causing me to sweat like crazy!

[Women's bath only] Moisturizing mist and aroma added to salt sauna

Meanwhile, the women's bath has undergone an evolution specializing in beauty treatments! The previous "salt sauna" has been transformed into a "moisturizing salt sauna"!

Salt is applied to the entire body and then warmed in the sauna. The dissolved salt removes dirt and dead skin cells that are stuck deep in the pores.

It has been redesigned to emit a moisturizing mist, and has also been updated to burn aroma.

The store's manager, Murakami, proudly states, "The space has become more complete!"

[Women's bath only] A lotion bath you'll want to stay in forever has been born

The newly introduced outdoor "lotion bath" is only available to women!

This skin care bath is like soaking in hot water that has been infused with ingredients such as collagen, placenta, hyaluronic acid, royal jelly, rose water, and albutin.

Not only is there a large bathtub, but the "Tsuboyu" next to it is also filled with lotion water, so you can enjoy the moisturizing water in your own individual bathtub without worrying about other people!

[Men's and Women's Baths] "Beautiful Bubble Bath" - Be enveloped in delicate bubbles

We also recommend the newly installed "Beautiful Bubble Bath" in the center of the indoor bath for both men and women.

The fine bubbles not only have a cleansing effect on the surface of the skin, but the feeling of the bubbles enveloping your entire body is also popular!

[Ganbanyoku Space] 7,500 manga books make the rock sauna even more enjoyable!

The "rock bath" has also undergone a major renovation (unisex).

The first thing that stands out is the 7,500 manga and magazines lined up in rows! Those using the bedrock bath can read as much as they want.

While lying down in the lounging space, you can get emotional reading a nostalgic classic, or get excited reading a new work you've never read before!

[Ganbanyoku space] Relax in privacy in a semi-private room

In addition, a semi-private cabin space was newly created through large-scale construction work.

Each cabin is equipped with power and USB outlets, so even if you want to relax all day you don't have to worry about charging your smartphone.

The cabin itself is large enough that even I, who am 184cm tall, was able to stretch out my legs and lie down in the spacious type!

Cabins are great for ensuring privacy, but similar private rooms have also recently been introduced as bedrock bath rooms.

Of the four types of bedrock baths, the "steam" room is designed like a capsule hotel.

This is also recommended for those who are uncomfortable with being seen sweating or without makeup!

The renovations aren't just limited to the bathrooms! Dining areas and parking lots have also been made more comfortable.

In addition, the dining area has also had the wooden floors and walls, as well as the tables, all renewed!

Furthermore, the renovations are not limited to the interior of the store!

The restaurant's parking lot used to fill up on weekends and holidays, but now they've opened a second parking lot! This increases parking capacity by more than 50 cars.

In addition to the long-awaited renewal, there are many updates that will please many people, such as sauna and beauty features!

However, if you're going to a facility where you can relax, you'll want to avoid busy times if possible. For ARNE readers (and especially for those who have read this article up to this point), we secretly asked Manager Murakami about the "less busy times."
