[Fukuoka 2025 Summer Event] Penguin "munching time"! Aquarium opens at Iwataya Main Store

Introducing summer vacation events that the whole family can enjoy!

This time, penguins will be appearing in Tenjin at the "Playful Aquarium in Iwataya Main Store."

[August 2nd - 17th, 2025] A gathering of sea and river creatures! "Playful Aquarium in Iwataya Main Store"

For a limited time from Saturday, August 2nd to Sunday, August 17th, 2025, the "Playable Aquarium in Iwataya Main Store" will be held in the large event hall on the 7th floor of the main building of Iwataya Main Store in Tenjin, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City.

This summer event is fun for the whole family, where you can see, touch, and play with sea and river creatures up close!

Same-day tickets cost 1,500 yen for junior high school students and above, 900 yen for ages 3 to elementary school, and free for children under 2. Advance tickets are 300 yen cheaper than same-day tickets.

Everyone's favorite penguins will be making an appearance at the event! For about 15 minutes every day from 2pm, you can watch them eat during "Penguin Munching Time" (participation is free).

You can enjoy the "touching pool" where you can touch sea creatures such as cat sharks, sea cucumbers, and starfish.

There is also a "Fossil Excavation Experience" (500 yen per session), where you can take home one of the fossils you dig up.

You can also try out goldfish scooping (300 yen per try, includes 3 scoops), loach scooping, and killifish scooping. *You cannot take any live fish home.

Other exhibits you can enjoy include familiar clownfish and blue tangs, adorable garden eels, and fantastical jellyfish.

In addition, "Sumikko Gurashi Aquarium" designed goods and cute sea and river creature goods will be on sale.
