Limited edition sweets, illuminations, and festivals! Fukuoka Tower "Tanabata Event" (Momochihama, Sawara Ward, Fukuoka City)
The Tanabata Event will be held at Fukuoka Tower in Momochihama, Sawara Ward, Fukuoka City until Monday, July 7, 2025!
It's perfect for a summer night out. Let me introduce it to you in detail.
Shooting stars too! Tanabata illuminations appear at Fukuoka Tower ♡
First, let's start with the illuminations that are synonymous with Fukuoka Tower.
The 150m long "Milky Way Illumination" will be lit up from 19:30 to 23:00 until Monday, July 7, 2025! Shooting stars are also said to appear.

Also, in honor of the Tanabata legend where Orihime and Hikoboshi meet, there will be a special "Heart Illumination" from July 5th (Sat) to 7th (Mon) 2025 to make your wishes come true. It will be lit for 5 minutes from 00 minutes and 30 minutes between 20:00 and 22:30. *The 21:00 area on July 7th will be lit up at 21:10.

In addition to being able to enjoy it from the outside, there are also some great photo spots inside the tower, so be sure to check them out.
The "Sky Illumination" on the south side of the third observation floor has phosphorescent stones scattered on the floor that shine like stars in the night sky, making you feel as if you are in the Milky Way.
The tower is open from 9:30am to 10pm (last entry 9:30pm) and costs 800 yen for adults (1,000 yen from July 1st, 2025), 500 yen for elementary and junior high school students, and 200 yen for infants (ages 4 and over).

Write your wishes in a fantastical space ♪
The "Tanabata Wish Corner" where you can write your wishes and hang them on paper strips will also be available on the third observation floor. At night, the light of the bamboo lanterns creates a fantastic atmosphere.
What's more, the wishes on the displayed strips of paper will be prayed for to come true at Momiji Hachiman Yahata, the shrine that protects the festival in Sawara Ward, Fukuoka City.

Enjoy the view from the tower with these Tanabata sweets!
Sky Cafe & Dining Refuge, a restaurant with a spectacular view 120 meters above ground, will be offering limited-time Tanabata sweets (until July 7, 2025).
The "TANABATA souffle pancake" (1,100 yen) is a souffle pancake topped with whipped cream and peaches, made with mascarpone cheese. The "TANABATA jelly soda" (770 yen), inspired by the Milky Way, is a soda made with blue jelly and pineapple.
You can enjoy it together with the view from Fukuoka Tower.

There will also be festivals filled with fun stalls and greetings!
The Tanabata Festival will be held in the plaza on the south side of the tower from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm on July 5th (Sat) to July 7th (Mon), 2025. There will be a variety of fun stalls selling yakitori, yakisoba, shaved ice, yo-yo fishing, killifish scooping, and more.
There will also be a monkey show ♪ Enjoy it together with the Milky Way illuminations.
During the Tanabata Festival, Fukuoka Tower's mascot, Fuuta-kun, will also be making an appearance to greet guests from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. He will be making an appearance at the entrance hall on the first floor from 00 minutes past the hour until 20 minutes past the hour!

Take commemorative photos at the cool wind chime photo spot and face-in panel!
The entrance hall on the first floor features a new photo spot surrounded by 100 cool-looking wind chimes, as well as face-in panels of the Yamakasa and tower.
This statue will be up and running until Sunday, August 24, 2025, so it's a great place to take commemorative photos during your summer vacation.
