It's so much fun! A huge plaza and indoor playground with plenty of play equipment has opened at "Ooto Sakura Kaido Roadside Station"
Hello. I'm Konatsu, and I introduce fun spots for families on Instagram.
This time, we will introduce you to Ooto Sakura Kaido Roadside Station, located in Ooto Town, Tagawa County.
In addition to shopping, you can also enjoy seasonal events throughout the year, such as cherry blossoms in the spring and illuminations in the winter. This is a roadside station that makes you want to visit it specifically, rather than just as a side trip.
In particular, the "Fureai Hiroba" which was renovated and reopened on March 22, 2025, has so many amazing play equipment that it made me wonder if it was really a roadside station. I was surprised at how much more fun it was than I had imagined! Let me introduce it to you right away.
A wide range of playground equipment for all ages! "Ooto Sakura Kaido Roadside Station" new playground area "Fureai Hiroba" (Ooto Town, Tagawa District, Fukuoka Prefecture)
The "Fureai Hiroba" opened across the street from the existing "Ooto Sakura Kaido Roadside Station."
Although some content requires payment, the game is mostly free to play.

First of all, you will be surprised by the overwhelming size and number of play equipment.
There are playgrounds equipped for all ages, from preschoolers to elementary school students and above, so children of all ages can have fun.
My children had so much fun playing from 9am until the evening that they said they didn't want to go home.
The most eye-catching attraction in the square is the large pirate ship playground equipment, which is about 15 meters long. It is full of gimmicks that will tickle the child's heart, such as opening treasure chests and exploring.
This is a roller coaster style swing.
It swings back and forth and goes round at a high speed, giving you a thrill! This playground equipment overturns your concept of a swing. It's worth waiting in line for a while!
We also have a wide variety of swings available, including net swings and two-seater swings.
There's more!
It's perfect for active children as there is a wide variety of play activities to do, including large fluffy play equipment, trampolines embedded in the ground, unusually shaped rotating play equipment, and wooden net play equipment.
What's more, the sandbox has some unique and fun features! There's even a place where water comes out, not for washing hands, but for playing.
It's likely that you'll get dirty, so it's a good idea to bring a change of clothes. There's shade so parents can watch over their children comfortably.
There is also a secure area where small children can play safely.
There is an area with playground equipment such as slides and miniature athletic equipment,
There is also a play area called "Sukusuku Land" exclusively for children aged 0 to 6! Another nice thing about "Sukusuku Land" is that it is separated by a fence.
If you are over 130cm tall (※), you can enjoy full-scale go-karts (500 yen for 5 minutes). As this is a popular attraction, it is best to purchase your tickets early.
Adults can ride too, so it's a great challenge for the whole family. The experience of steering the car yourself and running around the course is fun for both adults and children! The running noise is surprisingly quiet and smooth.
(*) Even if you are over 130cm tall, you may not be able to ride if you cannot see in front of you. Please check with the go-karts installed before purchasing a ticket.
If you are not tall enough to ride a go-kart, try riding a tricycle! This is free and can be used as much as you like.

Don't worry even on rainy days! "Kodomo House" is an indoor facility produced by Bornelund where you can play for just 500 yen
The indoor facility "Kodomo House" produced by Bornelund, located within the "Fureai Hiroba", was also amazing.

The target audience is children aged 0 to 12 (sixth grade elementary school students) and their guardians. Admission is 500 yen per person for 60 minutes for both adults and children. *Free for infants

The facility is packed with a variety of amenities, including an Active Area (for ages 3 and up) with colorful play equipment that allows children to get plenty of exercise, a Role Play Area (for ages 1 and up) with educational play equipment for role play and building games, and a Baby Area (for ages 0 to 2) where crawling and toddlers can move around freely and safely.
There was a clean nursing room, diaper changing space, and children's toilets, which gave me a great sense of security.

You can enjoy meals and baths here!
After having fun, you can enjoy delicious local food at the direct sales shop and food court in Momijikan, located on the roadside station grounds. You can also purchase fresh vegetables and local specialties.
Furthermore, Sakurakan has a large public bath, an open-air bath, a sauna, and a medicinal stone bath (Arashi no Yu), where you can relax and soothe your tired body after a day of fun.
The bathing fees for the large public bath, open-air bath, and sauna are 700 yen for adults, 500 yen for elementary school students, and free for preschoolers. The fee for medicinal stone bath (Arashi no Yu) is 1,300 yen for adults and 1,000 yen for elementary school students. *Those who use the medicinal stone bath can also use the large public bath and open-air bath.
There is also a family bath (bathing fee + 1,500 yen for 60 minutes). The number of reservations is limited, so we recommend you check early!
