A new antenna shop has opened, packed with all the charm of Hakata and souvenirs!
On April 26, 2025, the former souvenir shop at Hakata Machiya Furusatokan will be reopened as a new cafe and retail store called "hakatakara."

"Hakatakara" is an antenna shop for food and crafts that reinterprets Hakata's traditional events and culture from a modern perspective and promotes their appeal.

The project was undertaken by the Hakata Daimaru Kyushu Exploration Team, which has been promoting the attractions of various parts of Kyushu, and aims to create new value and connect it to the future while preserving the traditional culture and artisanal skills of the region.

DECO Chocolate Hakata Gion Yamakasa

Just before the Hakata Dontaku Port Festival! Special feature on Hakata Niwaka
After the opening, during the Golden Week period, the city of Hakata will be bustling with the "Hakata Dontaku Port Festival."
"Hakatakara" will be holding a "Hakata Niwaka Special Feature." It will promote the culture and traditions unique to Hakata to people visiting from inside and outside the region (scheduled to run until the end of May 2025).
A wide range of unique items with a Hakata Niwaka half-mask motif will be on display, adding to the festive atmosphere.

A new cafe has also opened.
The drink menu features Japanese tea from the long-established Mitsuyasu Seikaen Tea Shop. You can casually enjoy high-quality flavors such as the Matcha Au Lait (650 yen).

They also serve specialty coffee made with beans roasted by STEREO COFFEE, a popular cafe in Fukuoka.

The Hakatakara-exclusive "Kofuku Mochi" (eat-in: 3 pieces for 240 yen, take-out: 10 pieces for 800 yen), created by the Fukuoka-based Japanese sweets shop "Ochacha Manto Honpo Fuki", is also available. It comes in three flavors: yuzu kosho, mugwort, and Hakata's specialty udon.

The "Niwa Monaka Ice Cream" (from 470 yen), which is a limited edition item at "hakatakara" and is based on the motif of a "Niwa mask", is cute in appearance. It is a sweet that can only be enjoyed here, fusing traditional Japanese style with modernity.
