[From January 2nd] No reservations required! Experience a traditional "Sato no New Year" event (Umi-no-Nakamichi Seaside Park)

Have you decided where you're going to go this New Year? A must-see for anyone looking to get active early in the new year!

We'd like to introduce you to some events that do not require reservations and are sure to allow you to spend some "New Year's-like time" with your children.

Open from January 2nd! "New Year's Experience in the Village" event held (Umi-no-Nakamichi National Park)

The National Umi-no-Nakamichi Seaside Park stretches over a vast area of approximately 350 hectares, stretching approximately six kilometers from east to west.

The National Umi-no-Nakamichi Seaside Park will open on Thursday, January 2, 2025!

On Thursday, January 2nd and Friday, January 3rd, 2025, an event will be held where you can experience a traditional New Year's celebration.

Have fun making your own original creations! "Daruma Painting Experience" & "Squishy Kite Making"

On January 2nd (Thursday) and 3rd (Friday), the "Daruma Painting Experience" and "Squishy Kite Making" events will be held.

In the "Daruma Painting Experience" (participation fee: 500 yen per person, maximum of 30 people per day *first come, first served), you can freely paint an auspicious "Daruma" to create your own original daruma.

In the "Squishy Kite Making" event (participation fee 300 yen per person, maximum of 75 people per day *applications accepted on a first-come, first-served basis), you will make a high-flying plastic kite.

＜Outline of "Daruma Painting Experience" & "Squishy Kite Making"＞
Date and time: Thursday, January 2nd and Friday, January 3rd, 2025, 11:00-15:00 each day *The "Squishy Kite Making" event will be canceled in the event of rain.
Location: Near PlayCafe
Capacity: Daruma painting 30 people/day, kite making 75 people/day *Accepted on a first-come, first-served basis
Participation fee: Daruma painting 500 yen, kite making 300 yen *Both fees are separate from admission and parking fees

Full bloom even in the middle of winter! Uminaka's "seasonal flowers" information

Rape blossoms

150,000 rapeseed flowers bloom in full glory near the Sky Dolphin.

The charm of Uminaka is that it can be enjoyed for a long period of time because it is a mixture of four varieties that have different flowering periods. In January, the variety called "Fushimi Kanzaki" blooms.

Viola, pansy

A wide variety of rarely seen brands and varieties of violas and pansies, developed by breeders from all over Kyushu, will be in full bloom.

Over 1,000 plants can be seen at the Flower Museum. The best time to see them is from early January.

Camellia

Camellia sasanquas can be seen in various places in the park, such as in the "Animal Forest" and "Toy Box Flower Bed." Over 100 sasanqua trees are planted, and in mid-January, the crimson petals fall onto the ground, creating a beautiful carpet-like sight!

The best time to see the flowers is from mid-December to late January.
