[2024 Illumination] Kurume "Hotomeki Fantasy" from December 14th
We are currently introducing illuminations from all over Fukuoka Prefecture.
This time, we will be introducing Kurume City's illumination event "Hotomeki Fantasy," which starts this weekend.

The 20th Kurume Light Festival "Hotomeki Fantasy" will be held from Saturday, December 14, 2024 to Sunday, February 16, 2025!
The 20th Kurume Light Festival "Hotomeki Fantasy" will be held from Saturday, December 14, 2024 to Sunday, February 16, 2025.
This illumination event takes place mainly at the east exit plaza of Nishitetsu Kurume Station and Meiji-dori (from Nishitetsu Kurume Station to Mutsumon), with approximately 400,000 lights illuminating an area of about 1 km of downtown Kurume.

This event began in 2005 and is attended by many people from inside and outside the prefecture every year.
The theme of this 20th event is "time travel."
There will be plenty of things to enjoy for visitors, such as three-color neon-style illuminations on the street trees, decorations such as a 2.4-meter-tall Christmas tree at the east exit of Nishitetsu Kurume Station, and photo spots that will look great on social media.
You can enjoy it every day during the period from 17:00 to 24:00.
Held on Saturday, December 14, 2024! Lighting ceremony, stage event, and big raffle
On the first day of the lighting, Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 11:00 to 19:00, the Kurume City Plaza Rokkakudo Square will host a lighting ceremony, stage events, and a grand raffle where purchasers of original sponsored merchandise will have the chance to win luxurious prizes.

Also, from 11:00 on Saturday, December 14th, at Kurume City Plaza Rokkakudo Square, within the opening event venue, there will be a workshop called "Making a Glowing Acrylic Ema" (participation fee 300 yen) where participants can draw things they would like to do next year, their aspirations and pictures on acrylic boards.
The acrylic votive plaques that are created will be exhibited in the showcase in the side aisle of Kurume City Plaza Rokkakudo Square from Saturday, December 21, 2024 to Sunday, January 26, 2025.

Also worth enjoying! "Museum Christmas 2024" illuminations at the free-entry "Ishibashi Cultural Center"
Ishibashi Cultural Center, located about 15 minutes by Nishitetsu Bus from JR Kurume Station or about 5 minutes from Nishitetsu Kurume Station, and immediately after getting off at the "Bunka Center-mae" stop, will be hosting Museum Christmas 2024 from December 14th (Sat) to 25th (Wed) 2024.
The illuminations can be enjoyed from 17:00 to 20:00 for seven days on December 14th (Sat.), 15th (Sun.), 20th (Fri.), 21st (Sat.), 22nd (Sun.), 24th (Tue.), and 25th (Wed.).
The garden, where you can stroll around while admiring the colorful flowers, is illuminated with beautiful lighting.

Other planned programs include workshops and concerts.
Admission is free, so it's a spot you should definitely stop by along with "Hotomeki Fantasy."
