[2024 Illumination] Kyushu's largest! The palace is enveloped in light at "Saga Illumination"

This time, we will introduce you to illumination spots in Arita Town, Saga Prefecture that are worth making the effort to visit.

It's about an hour and a half from central Fukuoka city on the highway. It's close enough to be a day trip.

First-time event! Kyushu's largest illumination event "Saga Illuminage" to be enjoyed at "Arita Porcelain Park" (Arita Town, Saga Prefecture)

The Saga Illumination will be held from November 1, 2024 at Arita Porcelain Park, a tourist attraction in Arita Town, Nishimatsuura District, Saga Prefecture, about 3 minutes from Hasami Arita IC on the Nishi Kyushu Expressway and 8 minutes by car from JR Sasebo Line Arita Station.

The nationally famous illumination event is the Kobe Illumination, but with the cooperation of the Japan Illumination Association, the Saga Illumination Executive Committee has created the largest illumination event in Kyushu. This will be the first time it is held in northern Kyushu, and in 2024 it will also be held in Kobe, Osaka Castle, and Kagoshima.

By the way, the name "Illuminage" is a combination of "Illumi" (illumination) and "Nage" (to swim) in French.

The venue, "Arita Porcelain Park," is a theme park of "sake and tableware" with a spacious garden, an Arita ware experience workshop, souvenir shops, and more, centered around the symbolic Zwinger Palace. The park is open from 9:00 to 17:00 and admission is free, but admission to "Saga Illumination" (17:00 to 22:00 / lights on 17:30 to 21:30), which will be held until Sunday, February 2, 2025, will incur an admission fee.

Admission fees are 2,000 yen for adults (junior high school students and above), 1,000 yen for children (1 to 12 years old), and 500 yen per pet.

*From December 21st to 25th, the admission fee is 3,000 yen for adults, 2,000 yen for children, and 500 yen per pet. Priority admission tickets, which shorten the waiting time at reception, are an additional 500 yen for each person other than pets.

There was so much to see and the area was well-developed, so parents and children could spend quality time together.

During the period, various events are planned, including cosplay events in which guests can participate, concerts, and hand-held fireworks displays.
