Mojiko Retro Illumination in 2024, including a two-day limited "Candle Night"!

We are currently introducing illuminations from all over Fukuoka Prefecture.

This time, we will be visiting "Romantic Lanterns" in Mojiko Retro, Kitakyushu.

Until May 11, 2025! "Illumination 2024 Mojiko Retro Romantic Lanterns" (Kitakyushu City)

"Illumination 2024 Mojiko Retro Romantic Lanterns" will be held from Saturday, October 5, 2024 to Sunday, May 11, 2025.

The illuminations are a collaboration with the lighting up of the historical buildings and boat harbor in the Mojiko Retro District.

The entire Mojiko Retro area is enveloped in the softly glowing, fantastical light of about 300,000 bulbs, creating a truly magical atmosphere...♡

The lights are on from 17:30 to 24:00 in principle from November to February, and from 18:30 to 24:00 in principle from October and March to May.

"Kanmon Strait Candle Night 2024" will also be held on November 16th and 17th!

The Kanmon Strait Candlelight Night 2024 will also be held on Saturday, November 16th and Sunday, November 17th, 2024 (will be held in light rain but will be canceled in case of severe weather).

The event will be held at the following locations. The lights will be on from 17:30 to 21:00.

Mojiko area: Mojiko Retro Waterfront Plaza, Central Plaza, Harbor Deck, Sakaemachi Gintengai (16th only), Premier Hotel Mojiko *Admission to Waterfront Plaza requires an admission fee (500 yen, 1,000 yen with message candle)

Karato area: Shimonoseki City Civic Square (in front of City Hall), Kameyama Yahata, Former Shimonoseki British Consulate, Tanaka Kinuyo Bunkakan, Shimonoseki Nanbucho Post Office, Former Miyazaki Trading Post, Karato Harete Yokocho

Shimonoseki Station Area: Japan Ceremony Walk (Ekimachi Square), Shimonoseki Civic Activity Center

A total of 30,000 candles will be set up, creating a romantic atmosphere.

Also on both days, there will be events such as "Minatomachi Noel" which will sell a wide variety of food, drinks, and miscellaneous goods, and an exhibition of milk carton lanterns made by local kindergarten children.
