[Thursday, November 14th, 2024 - Wednesday, December 25th, 2024] Prefectural Tenjin Central Park "QTnet presents Light Forest"

"QTnet presents Forest of Light" is one of the venues for "Christmas Advent" (formerly known as the Fukuoka Christmas Market), which brightens up Fukuoka's winter with the goal of becoming "the world's best Christmas city."

At the Prefectural Tenjin Central Park, Christmas events will be held from 17:00 to 22:00 on weekdays and 12:00 to 22:00 on weekends and holidays until December 25, 2024 (Wednesday). Illuminations can be enjoyed until January 6, 2025 (Monday) (until midnight).

In addition to the Christmas market, the appeal of "QTnet presents Forest of Light" is the large number of glittering objects.

There will be huts selling mulled wine (hot wine), churros, donuts, and Christmas goods.

"ACROS Fukuoka Illumination" is one of the largest illumination events in Kyushu, and will be held at the Step Garden of "ACROS Fukuoka" until Sunday, January 19, 2025.

The event will be held from 18:00 to 22:00 (last entrance 21:00). The admission fee is 1,500 yen for adults and 800 yen for children.

This year's theme is "Light Through the Seasons."

The staircases and walkways are decorated with cute illuminated animals and seasonal decorations. There are also plenty of other attractions, such as a light tunnel and a fish area.

Also new this year is the introduction of a projection mapping area, allowing you to enjoy a world of beautiful illuminations like you've never seen before.

There are plenty of fantastic and fascinating sights to see, including a wide variety of illuminations, as well as a rare view of Tenjin from a rooftop 60 meters above ground!

There are also interactive features, such as "steps" that change color when you step on them.

Tickets can be purchased at the entrance to the venue (same-day tickets are sold from 17:30) or online. We recommend purchasing your tickets in advance, as this will help you enter smoothly even when it is crowded.

In addition, from Friday, November 22nd to Wednesday, December 25th, 2024, the museum will be hosting a Christmas-only event, "Harry Potter: Christmas at Hogwarts."

A special 4-meter-tall tree decorated with motifs of the four houses of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, and Hufflepuff) will be set up in the Momochi Stage Atrium on the second floor. In addition, under the Great Staircase on the first floor and in front of McDonald's on the second floor, there will be photo spots where you can experience the Sorting Scene from the first film in the series, as well as spots where you can take photos with life-size figures of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley. There will also be a stamp rally, a pop-up store, workshops, and special screenings of the Harry Potter series, and many other things to see.

This year marks the fifth year that the lights will be on in the Nakasu area, including Nakasu Chuo Dori, Nakagawa Dori, Meiji Dori, and Fukuhaku Deai Bridge. The lights continue all the way to the riverside where the food stalls are lined up at Seiryu Park, and the view from the bridge is a sight to behold!

This is a familiar annual winter tradition in Fukuoka, but the theme actually changes every year, and this year's theme is "PRAY FOR PIECE (From small prayers to big prayers)."

The idea behind this is to entrust this light with the hope that "each and every piece of light that decorates Hakata, the city of light, will represent a single wish for peaceful everyday life, and lead to a greater prayer for peace."

The lighting period will be until Sunday, January 5, 2025. It will be lit up from 17:00 to 24:00.

"Uminaka Candle Night" is a popular event held every year at Umi-no-Nakamichi Seaside Park, a national park surrounded by nature and the sea.

This year's "Uminaka Candle Night 2024" will be held for five days on December 14th (Sat), 15th (Sun), 21st (Sat), 22nd (Sun), and 25th (Wed). *Cancelled in case of bad weather.

Between 17:30 and 20:45 (last admission at 20:15), night admission (after 17:30) costs 290 yen for adults, 210 yen for those 65 and over, and free for junior high school students and younger.

The main attraction of the event will be the 10,000 candle art that will be displayed at the "Outdoor Theater"! It will be a gigantic ground drawing measuring 100 meters in length and width.

The design to be drawn is selected from public entries every year, and this year, from among 176 submissions, the winning design was "Capybara Babies' Christmas" by Kumano Haruka, a third-grade elementary school student living in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City!

The 108-meter-tall Fukuoka Tower will be transformed into a Christmas tree until December 25, 2024 (Wednesday).

The entire Fukuoka Tower is illuminated to resemble a Christmas tree.

Pure white snow and colorful ornaments dance on the large Christmas tree, and Santa Claus makes an occasional appearance.

If you visit Fukuoka Tower, you should also check out the outdoor ice skating event "Seaside Momochi ICE SKATING PARK '24-'25," which will be held in the plaza in front of the tower until Monday, February 24, 2025.

Admission to the venue is free, but use of the skating rink, including shoes, costs 1,700 yen for adults (high school students and above) and 1,200 yen for children (junior high school students and below).

The 20th Kurume Light Festival "Hotomeki Fantasy" will be held at the east exit plaza of Nishitetsu Kurume Station and Meiji Dori (from Nishitetsu Kurume Station to Mutsumon), with approximately 400,000 lights illuminating an area of about 1km of downtown Kurume.

The theme of this year's 20th event is "Time Travel." There will be illuminations that decorate the roadside trees in three colors like neon lights, a 2.4-meter-tall Christmas tree at the east exit of Nishitetsu Kurume Station, and photo spots that will look great on social media, making it even more enjoyable for visitors.

Approximately 40,000 lights are illuminated throughout the building, including on the 1st floor at Canyon Walk and along Murasaki River, and at the 5th floor Roof Garden, from which you can see Kokura Castle. You can enjoy the lights from 10:00 to 22:00.

You can enjoy unique "light programs" in each area, including the "Ogaibashi/Murasakigawa Area" (※The character for "Ogai" is actually written with three mouths) decorated with decorations reminiscent of the solar system and the galaxy. The lighting time is from 17:00 to 22:00 (some areas are 23:00).

About an hour and a half by car from the center of Fukuoka city, you will find Saga Light Fantasy, a seasonal feature of Saga.

Until Monday, January 13, 2025 (national holiday), the entire city will be enveloped in warm light, including the streetside trees and illuminated stores along the street, centered around Saga City Central Boulevard (Symbolic Road).

The lights are on from 17:00 to 22:30.

The illuminations continue from Saga Station, so it's also a good idea to take the train. It looks like you'll be able to enjoy a fantastic night stroll.

It takes about an hour and a half from the center of Fukuoka City on the highway. The "Saga Illumination" (2,000 yen for adults, 1,000 yen for children, 500 yen per pet) will be held at the tourist spot "Arita Porcelain Park" in Arita Town, Nishimatsuura District, Saga Prefecture until Sunday, February 2, 2025. *From December 21 to 25, 2024, the admission fee is 3,000 yen for adults and 2,000 yen for children.

The nationally famous illumination event is the Kobe Illumination, but with the cooperation of the Japan Illumination Association, which organizes it, the Saga Illumination Executive Committee has created one of the largest illumination events in Kyushu.

The spacious gardens, centered around the iconic Zwinger Palace, are illuminated with fantastical lights.

With fountains of light, corridors of light, jewels of light, animals and more, it is a space that looks stunning no matter where you look at it.

During the event, various events are planned, including cosplay events where guests can participate, concerts, and hand-held fireworks displays, so be sure to check out those too (check the official website for details).

On the north side of the facility, "North Avenue," there will be a Premium Star monument, LED cube chairs, and a Christmas tree until Wednesday, December 25, 2024.
