Free admission! Kyushu's largest urban music festival "MUSIC CITY TENJIN 2024" will be held on September 28th and 29th
We bring you information on noteworthy events in Fukuoka.
This time, we will introduce "MUSIC CITY TENJIN 2024", which will be held this weekend on Saturday, September 28th and Sunday, September 29th, 2024.
[Saturday, September 28th and Sunday, September 29th] Kyushu's largest urban music festival "MUSIC CITY TENJIN 2024" will be held for the first time in five years!
The entire Tenjin area of Fukuoka will be transformed into a festival venue for the large-scale live event "MUSIC CITY TENJIN" (admission free), filled with music.
It started in 2002 and attracts more than 100,000 people every year during the last week of September. After being suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year will be the first time the event has been held in person in five years, marking its 20th anniversary!
"MUSIC CITY TENJIN 2024" will be held over two days, Saturday, September 28th and Sunday, September 29th, 2024.

While listening to exciting music, you can enjoy seven types of beer bowls (standard, strong, acerola, melon, blue soda, ginger, lemon/300 to 400 yen each), as well as a selection of exquisite BBQ gourmet foods such as the Fukuoka-only "Fukuoka Strawberry Beer Bowl" (400 yen), "Beef Loin Skewers with Special Sauce" (1,000 yen), "Scallops with Shells" (900 yen), "Thick-Sliced Pork Yakisoba with Sauce" (900 yen), and "Meat-Wrapped Rice Balls" (600 yen).

■TENJIN SHOWTIME

The music event "TENJIN SHOWTIME", linked to "MUSIC CITY TENJIN", will be held in eight public open spaces and event spaces in Tenjin.
You can enjoy a total of approximately 70 performances of fascinating music by a total of 35 performers.
■Music Train <Friday, September 27th>

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Nishitetsu Tenjin Omuta Line, a "Music Train" will run between Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station and Hanabatake Station on the evening of Friday, September 27th as a pre-event for "MUSIC CITY TENJIN 2024." This will allow passengers to enjoy live classical music on board the train.
Also, from 6:00 p.m. on Friday the 27th, the Kyushu University Philharmonic Orchestra will be holding a "Tokimeki Square Mini Classic Concert" at Tokimeki Square on the second floor of Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station. This will add a touch of glamour to the operation of the "Music Train."
