[Fukuoka Event] Tenjin Summer Festival will be held every night until August 18th! "Great food too"

We'll introduce you to a hugely popular event where you can enjoy food stalls and festivals in the streets of Tenjin!
Enjoy a traditional festival in the heart of Tenjin! "Takamatsuri SUMMER BOOST meets Tenjin Summer Festival" (Fukuoka City Hall West Side Community Square)
The Tenjin Summer Festival will be held at the Fureai Hiroba on the west side of Fukuoka City Hall for about a month from Friday, July 19th to Sunday, August 18th, 2024. In addition to food stalls and festival days, there will also be Bon Odori dancing around a large tower, making it a very popular event for families!

This year marks the second time the event is being held, and it has teamed up with the evolved "Hawk Festival SUMMER BOOST," an annual summer event for the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, to create a special, more powerful "Hawk Festival SUMMER BOOST meets Tenjin Summer Festival."

The venue is decorated with Hawks player designs. The central tower is also decorated for the "Hawks Festival Summer Boost" and is very festive! Fans will love it.

Popular street food
When you think of festivals, the first thing that comes to mind is the food stalls!
Shaved ice (500 yen each) is a must-have in this heat.

If you wear the limited edition "Takamatsuri SUMMER BOOST" uniform or T-shirt, you can enjoy unlimited condensed milk for free, which normally costs an additional 200 yen!

The signature dish, "Itoshima Pork Sauce Yakisoba" (700 yen), is full of Itoshima pork! The chewy noodles are coated with rich sauce, making it so delicious you won't be able to stop eating. Even the regular size was very satisfying.
The "Jumbo Pork Belly Skewers" (400 yen) are also great value for their size and price! I highly recommend trying them together.

With the "Daimyo Chicken Oil Mazesoba," I ordered the "Infinite Combo: 5 Fried Chicken + Potatoes" (1,000 yen)!

The fried chicken is topped with our original "smoked tartar sauce", which really brings out the flavor!
The fries were also sprinkled with smoked salt, giving them a stylish flavor.

Other dishes on the menu that will get you in the festival mood include the signature dish "Juicy Meat Bomb Gyoza" (800 yen) from the food stall "Nakanakana," "Charcoal Grilled Chicken" (700 yen, large 1,000 yen) from "Nishishin Hatsuyoshi," juicy "Shinchi Kushikatsu" (2 skewers from 300 yen), "Tonpeiyaki" (600 yen), "Fried Gyoza" (from 800 yen), ice-cold "Fruit Skewers" (from 500 yen), and many more.
In addition to Kyushu-made beer "PLEIADES BEER" (500ml, 800 yen), there will also be a "Suntory" booth offering draft beer and highballs, and a "Kirishima Shuzo" booth where you can try the newly released "KIRISHIMA No.8"! It looks like you'll be making your way through the food as well.

Kids will be delighted! Game corner
There was also a game corner with things like "Yo-yo fishing," "Super ball scooping," and "Shooting gallery." Not only children, but adults too could enjoy themselves and return to their childhood!

Have fun with Bon Odori and stage events!
Every night, Bon Odori dances are held around the large tower in the center (at around 19:15, 20:10, and 21:10 *excluding July 24th, August 1st, and August 14th).

In addition to old familiar songs such as Tanko Bushi, this new type of Bon Odori also uses pop music, and is enjoyed by people of all ages.
There are also stage events featuring artists from a wide range of genres, including singing, comedy shows, and Japanese drumming. It seems like you can have fun no matter when you visit.
On the day I visited, the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks players appeared at the "Hawks Festival Summer Boost" pre-party, and they really livened up the venue.

Although no players are scheduled to appear, there is also a party after the event scheduled for Sunday, August 4th. The Hawks Store will also be setting up a pop-up store (17:00-22:00) and will have multiple lineups, including Hawks Festival SUMMER BOOST goods, so don't miss it.
