This time, we will introduce the 50th Aganoyaki Spring Pottery Festival.

Agano ware was first produced in 1602 at the foot of Mount Fukuchi by Hosokawa Tadaoki, the feudal lord of Kokura in Buzen. It is thin andloved for its soft texture when placed in the mouth, as well as its elegant yet strong texture.

The 50th annual Aganoyaki Spring Pottery Festival will be held from April 26th (Fri) to 29th (Mon/Holiday), 2024.

The event will take place at the Ueno no Sato Community Center and feature nine kilns: Aoyagi Furouen, Kajiwara Kiln, Mitsushu Kiln, Koushingama, Shoryugama, Tenkyo Kiln, Toji Kiln, Mori Kiln, and Watari Kiln (in alphabetical order).

There will also be a stamp rally with great prizes! Various events will be held during the period.

During this period, all products will be available at a 20% discount, and various events will be held.

■ Uenoyaki tea ceremony

"Aganoyaki Tea Ceremony" will be held from 11:30 to 15:00 on April 27th (Saturday) to 29th (Monday, holiday). A tea ceremony where you can feel the history of Aganoyaki will be held. 500 yen (including sweets) 50 sets per day.

■ Pottery Tour Stamp Rally and Big Lottery

A stamp rally will be held for four days from April 27th (Sat) to 29th (Mon, holiday).

The prizes are a luxurious lineup of prizes, including a round-trip JAL flight (Fukuoka to Tokyo), a hot spring bath ticket for two, Ueno ware from each kiln, local gelato, and more, to celebrate the 50th anniversary! Stamp rally papers are available at the Ueno ware Ceramic Art Museum (Fureai Exchange Hall), participating kilns, and the lottery venue.

■ Uenoyaki x Kuramoto Flower Shop

Products will be sold that combine Ueno-yaki flower pots with succulents and ornamental plants from Kuramoto Flower Shop.

■Fluffy

From April 27th (Sat) to 29th (Mon, holiday), the fun play equipment "Fuwa Fuwa" will be available!

In addition, there will be many food trucks and other stalls that are only available at the Spring Pottery Festival. In addition to curry, hot dogs, and takoyaki, there will also be sets of Aganoyaki and udon, and Aganoyaki and sata aganoggi (sata andagi).

If you are using public transportation, a free shuttle bus will run to the Ueno no Sato Fureai Exchange Hall (Heisei Chikuho Railway Akaike Station → Exchange Hall → Each participating kiln. Details such as timetables will be posted on the Ueno Yaki Cooperative Association website).
