The largest in Kitakyushu! A huge park with "everything" from the world's best playground equipment to a campsite: Kitakyushu City Hibikinada Ryokuchi/Green Park (Takenami, Wakamatsu Ward, Kitakyushu City)
Located about 30 minutes by car from the center of Kokura, Kitakyushu City Hibikinada Green Park is the largest and largest park in Kitakyushu City (admission fee: 150 yen for adults, 70 yen for elementary and junior high school students, 40 yen for seniors (*), free for preschoolers). (*) Anyone who presents an original certificate (driver's license, health insurance card, etc.) that proves they are a resident of Kitakyushu City, Shimonoseki City, Fukuoka City, Kumamoto City, or Kagoshima City and are 65 years of age or older can enter.
Comprised of a variety of areas, including the "world's longest swing," which has been certified by the Guinness World Records (TM), the vast 4-hectare "Great Lawn Square," the "Splash Pond," a summertime highlight, and "Kangaroo Square (Hibiki Animal World)" where you can interact with animals, this park is full of attractions that will captivate both children and adults.

The park is made up of various areas. We will introduce some of the main highlights.
[Large lawn area]
The symbol of Green Park is the four-hectare "Great Lawn Square." You can eat your lunch, run around, relax, and spend your time freely and openly.
[The world's longest swing/maze flower bed]
This is the world's longest swing, certified by the Guinness World Records (TM) and capable of carrying 100 people. 100 swings are lined up in a circle with a horizontal distance of 163.35m.
The scenery changes depending on where you ride, so you'll never get bored.
The space inside the world's longest swing is called the "Maze Flower Bed"! As the name suggests, it can be enjoyed as a maze.
[Aerial adventure playground Amigo!]
"Aerial Adventure Playground Amigo!" is a new type of net and athletics facility that is making its debut in Western Japan. There are 11 types of adventure playground equipment set up in the air. There is a safety net on the floor of each floor, so you can play on it like a trampoline.
Children aged 3 and over pay 500 yen (30-minute shifts), and are open from 10:00 to 16:30 on weekends and public holidays (reception 9:30 to 16:00).
*Children in the third grade or younger must be accompanied by a guardian (high school student or older). Up to five children in the third grade or younger per guardian. *Only reservations are accepted on the day. Advance reservations are not possible.
*If possible, please have all participants check in and sign the usage agreement. Barefoot, sandals, heels, etc. are not permitted. Children in the third grade of elementary school or younger must wear helmets (rentals are available). Those who have consumed alcohol are not permitted to use the facility. Food, drinks, bags, cameras, etc. are not permitted to be brought in. Wearing accessories such as necklaces or watches, or sharp objects is not permitted to use the facility.
[Splash Pond]
Green Park's summer specialty, the "Splash Pond," will be open again this summer! Around the pond, there will be a pool, water slides, and other inflatable play equipment (fees apply).
[Hill of the Sun]
At "Taiyo no Oka" you can enjoy a slide that is about 20m in diameter, as well as grass sledding areas of different lengths and slopes (for beginners, intermediate and advanced levels), a long slider that is about 38m long, and a bumpy slide that is about 6m long.
*Sleds are available for rental (free of charge, but numbers are limited). Sleds cannot be brought into the park. *Target age: 6 to 12 years old
[Adventure Forest]
"Adventure Forest" is filled with play equipment made from logs. You can play in a lush forest with sunlight filtering in.
[Interesting Bicycles (Omoshiro Cycle Land)]
There are lots of unique bicycles, including 4-wheeled bicycles!
300 yen for ages 4 and over (30 minutes per person). Open on weekends and holidays (late March to late November) from 9:00 to 16:50 (reception until 16:30, returns until 16:50). *Please contact us for inquiries regarding winter (early December to early March).
[Cycle Boat (Omoshiro Cycle Land)]
At "Cycle Boat (Omoshiro Cycle Land)," you can take a leisurely stroll on the water in a "cycle boat" shaped like a swan, a ladybug, a koala, etc. You can enjoy the water and greenery of the Tonta Reservoir.
800 yen for two-seater, 1,000 yen for three-seater (20 minutes per vehicle). Open on weekends and holidays (late March to late November) from 9:00 to 16:50 (reception until 16:30). *Please inquire about opening hours during spring break, summer vacation, and winter.
[Kangaroo Square (Hibiki Animal World)]
"Kangaroo Square (Hibiki Animal World)" is one of the leading facilities in Japan for the natural rearing of marsupials such as kangaroos! It is home to about 400 animals of the three basic kangaroo species: kangaroos, wallabies, and wallaroos. The attraction is that you can see kangaroos up close.
Adults 300 yen, elementary and junior high school students 150 yen, seniors (※) 90 yen. Open from 9:00 to 17:00 (entry until 16:30). (※) Those who present an original certificate (driver's license, health insurance card, etc.) that proves they are 65 years of age or older and live in Kitakyushu City, Shimonoseki City, Fukuoka City, Kumamoto City, or Kagoshima City.
There is also a "Hibiki Full Understanding Tour" (1,000 yen per group) where you can listen to an explanation about kangaroos and at the end touch and feed them. The tour takes 30 minutes and is held twice a day, (1) 10:30-11:00 and (2) 14:30-15:00. Reservations are accepted by phone or at the entrance gate to Hibiki Animal World, on a first-come, first-served basis. *This tour is not held during the Golden Week period.
[Pony Square]
At Pony Square you can see cute ponies, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs and other animals up close.
On weekends, the only goat and pony show in Fukuoka Prefecture is held, and you can also enjoy horse riding, pony carriage rides, feeding and interacting with the animals!

[Hibikinada Dino Park]
At Hibikinada Dino Park, you can learn about the characteristics of dinosaurs while having fun. In addition to the "Gao Gao Ride" that you can ride on and take photos of dinosaur eggs, you can also observe the pterosaur "Pteranodon" through the screen of your smartphone.
500 yen for ages 3 and over. Open on weekends and holidays from 9:30 to 17:00 (reception 9:30 to 16:00).
[Fossil Valley]
Fossil Valley is a large circular space surrounded by a wall of about 83 meters in which 22 life-size paleontological fossils are embedded. There is a wall where you can try bouldering, and walls and floors where you can enjoy drawing with chalk (fee required).
[Tropical Ecological Garden/Greenhouse 2/Greenhouse 3]
At the Tropical Ecological Garden, you can observe tropical trees, reptiles, birds, fish, and Japan's largest butterfly, the Idea leuconoe. There are also events (irregularly) where you can feed capybaras and take photos with snakes.
Adults: 350 yen, elementary and junior high school students: 200 yen, seniors (※): 100 yen. (※) Those who present an original certificate (driver's license, health insurance card, etc.) that proves they are 65 years of age or older and live in Kitakyushu, Shimonoseki, Fukuoka, Kumamoto, or Kagoshima.
Next to the Tropical Ecological Garden is "Greenhouse No. 2," which displays succulents, cacti, carnivorous plants, and "Greenhouse No. 3," which displays a variety of tropical fruits.
[Rose Garden]
The Rose Garden aims to be the most beautiful in Japan, with 2,700 roses of about 450 varieties in full bloom. The Rose Fair, held in spring and autumn, is a popular event that draws many visitors from inside and outside the prefecture.
In addition, various seasonal flowers are planted in the garden, so you can enjoy beautiful scenery all year round.
[HIBIKINADA CAMP BASE]
There is even a campsite inside the park! What's more, it is a high-standard campsite that is friendly to even outdoor beginners, and you can enjoy it almost empty-handed.
After spending the whole day at Green Park, you can relax and enjoy camping within the park. When camping, the park admission fee is free.

Admission Fee
Another great thing about Kitakyushu City Hibikinada Green Park is that the admission fee is reasonable!
Admission fees are 150 yen for adults, 70 yen for elementary and junior high school students, 40 yen for seniors *, and free for preschoolers.
Some locations require a facility usage fee in addition to the admission fee.

Hibikinada Dino Park: 500 yen for ages 3 and up

Free opening days
There are also free admission days.
May 4th (Greenery Day), May 5th (Children's Day), the third Monday of September (Respect for the Aged Day), the third Sunday of October.
*Only on the third Sunday of October, admission to Green Park, the Tropical Ecological Garden and Kangaroo Square is free.
Parking and parking fees
There are permanent and temporary parking lots on the north and south sides of the park. Parking fees are 300 yen for regular cars.
There are two parking lots in the South Parking Lot: Parking Lot No. 1 and Parking Lot No. 2.

Food and drink shops: There is Agrism Cafe, which uses locally sourced produce from local farms, livestock, and fisheries (11:00am - 4:30pm, food last order 4:00pm), a food truck called Paradise selling Cuban sandwiches and other items, and A Terrace & BBQ, where you can enjoy barbecue and cafe menus in an open space.
・ Stroller rental: Strollers (100 yen) and wheelchairs (free) are available for rental at the North and South Gates.
・Pets: Pets are not permitted to enter the park. However, assistance dogs (guide dogs, service dogs, hearing dogs) may be brought into the park after confirmation that they are assistance dogs in accordance with the Act on Assistance Dogs for Persons with Physical Disabilities.
・Bicycles: Bicycles (including unicycles) are not permitted.
・Items that cannot be brought into the park: Radio-controlled cars, wooden or metal bats, soft or hard balls, sleds, roller skates, kickboards (including in-line skates, flash rollers, and skateboards), unicycles and two-wheeled vehicles (self-propelled vehicles), golf equipment, stilts, fishing tackle and fishing rods, flammable items (fireworks and gunpowder), guns and swords (including model guns, wooden swords, and bamboo swords). Pets are not allowed in the park.
