[Detailed explanation] 4/27 "FUKUOKA Higashi Ward Fireworks Festival" Recommended viewing spots & access information
Introducing information on noteworthy events in Fukuoka!
This time, we will introduce the "FUKUOKA Higashi Ward Fireworks Festival" which will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024. We will also introduce the top 3 recommended free viewing areas.
A spectacular 7,000 shots! "FUKUOKA Higashi Ward Fireworks Festival" to be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 (Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City)
The "Fukuoka Higashi Ward Fireworks Festival" (hosted by the Higashi Ward Fireworks Festival Executive Committee) will launch 7,000 fireworks over the sea at Kashiihama starting at 7:30 p.m. This year marks the 29th time it has been held.
The launch site will be the usual Kashiihama seaside. The appeal is that you can see it from anywhere, 360 degrees around, including from the Kashii Kaen side and Island City Central Park side.
What is the Executive Committee's recommended route? Access information
There is no parking lot at the venue, so you will need to access it by public transportation (there will be special buses from Tenjin on the day).
Among these, the route that the executive committee "strongly recommends" is the one that takes you from JR Chihaya Station to the venue.
It is expected that you will be able to enjoy smooth viewing if you head to the free viewing areas of Kashiihama Central Park and Island Green Space from JR Chihaya Station.
On the other hand, the area around AEON Mall Kashiihama is expected to be very crowded. Also, this time, there will be a "one-way pedestrian system" (details to be determined) around the venue, so if you come from JR Kashii Station, you may have to take a detour. Please be careful!
This is also one of the best parts of fireworks! Where are there lots of "yatai" (food stalls)?
One of the best parts of a fireworks festival is enjoying the food stalls!
The organizing committee recommends Kashiihama Central Park, which is spacious and has a large number of stalls. There will be about 100 stalls.
As many as 120 food stalls will be set up at Kashii Hamakita Park, and it is expected to be extremely crowded with food stall customers (as both people who come to visit the food stalls and those who come to watch the fireworks will gather).
There are about 40 stores lined up in the "Island Outer Green Space." It seems that this area isn't as crowded as usual. It might be a good place to visit!
Top 3 free viewing areas
Here are the top 3 recommended free viewing areas!
3rd place in the recommended ranking: "Mishima Green Bay Walk"
This is a free viewing area on the beach that has been around for a long time. Some people think this is the only place they can go, so spots fill up early. You need to reserve a spot early (after noon on the day). Be careful of heavy traffic on the way back!
2nd place in the recommended ranking: "Island Outer Green Space"
This area is less crowded than Kashiihama and Kataosabashi. There is also a lawn, so you can enjoy the view at your leisure. There are also food stalls, but it is said that this is a good place to shop if you want to do so without any hassle.
Recommended ranking #1: Kashiihama Central Park
Kashiihama Central Park is spacious and has many food stalls, so it's our top pick! If you come from the JR Chihaya Station side, you can easily enter and leave easily. It may seem far from the launch site, but thanks to this distance, you can enjoy a full view of the fireworks without the urban expressway blocking your view. There are toilets available (though there aren't many).
By the way, in these free viewing areas, you can reserve a spot from 12:00 on the day of the event. Please do not reserve a spot with a sheet or anything else before that.
There is also a paid seating area (Kashii Hamakita Park) where you can relax and enjoy the view without worrying about crowds. It seems to be popular and sold out last time, so if you're interested, be sure to check the Fukuoka Higashi Ward Fireworks Festival website early.
In the past, this fireworks festival was held at Ohori and Momochi, but now it is the only fireworks festival in Fukuoka city. The festival is run with the idea of "bringing smiles to children's faces" based on the idea that "there may be children who have never seen real fireworks."
In addition to the beauty of the fireworks, there's plenty to enjoy at a real event, such as the whoosh, the rumble of the earth, the excitement, and the lively atmosphere of the food stalls. Please enjoy the event to the fullest while observing proper viewing etiquette. (Text by ARNE Editorial Department)
