[Fukuoka City Chuo Ward] Prefectural Tenjin Central Park
Tenjin Central Park is an urban park located on the site of the former Fukuoka Prefectural Office, and features a vast grassy plaza and the Guest House, a nationally designated Important Cultural Property.
It is just a 3-minute walk from Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station and adjacent to Acros Fukuoka and Fukuoka City Hall, making it extremely accessible.
In spring, 50 cherry trees of various varieties, including Somei Yoshino, Satozakura, and Yamazakura, planted along the Yakuin Shinkawa River, bloom in full glory, pleasing the eyes of many visitors as a famous cherry blossom viewing spot.
If you plan to enjoy cherry blossom viewing at Sakura Hiroba between Friday, March 22nd and Sunday, April 7th, 2024, you will need to apply in advance and pay a fee. Apply on the Tenjin Central Park website or at the Tenjin Central Park Management Office.
During the above period, the area will be lit up from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Food trucks will also be operating from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on March 22nd (Fri), 23rd (Sat), 24th (Sun), 29th (Fri), 30th (Sat), 31st (Sun), April 5th (Fri), 6th (Sat), and 7th (Sun).

Maizuru Park is located about a 15-minute walk from Tenjin, the center of Fukuoka City, and is also known for being the site of Fukuoka Castle ruins.
There are about 1,000 cherry trees of various varieties, including Somei Yoshino and weeping cherry trees, planted within the park, and each tree reaches its best viewing time in turn.
The combination of the castle ruins and the cherry blossoms is something you can't miss. The cherry blossoms reflected on the surface of the moat are particularly beautiful and captivating.

[Fukuoka City Chuo Ward] Nishi Park
About a 15-minute walk from Ohori Park Station on the Subway Kuko Line is Nishi Park, where Koun Shrine, dedicated to Kuroda Josui and Nagamasa, is located.
It is the only place in Fukuoka Prefecture that has been selected as one of the "Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan" (selected by the Japan Cherry Blossom Association, a public interest incorporated foundation).
There are about 1,300 cherry trees planted here, including Somei-Yoshino and Yoko-zakura varieties, which bloom in full glory, drawing many visitors to the park.
From the central observation deck, which offers a great view, you can get a panoramic view of Fukuoka city, Hakata Bay, and Shika Island.
The Cherry Blossom Festival is scheduled to be held from March 19th (Tue) to April 7th (Sun) 2024 (*Depending on the flowering situation, the period may be shortened to April 3rd). During the festival, from 6pm to 10pm, both sides of the 52 steps leading to Hikariun Shrine, the plaza below the steps, and Sakura Valley will be lit up! Approximately 200 cherry trees of 43 different varieties are in full bloom throughout Minami Park, where the Fukuoka Municipal Zoological and Botanical Gardens are located.
The botanical garden's charm lies in the fact that in addition to Somei-Yoshino, you can enjoy a wide variety of cherry blossoms, including the beautiful Sekiyama, with its large, deep crimson double flowers, and the yellow-green blossoms of Ukon and Gyoikou.

[Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City] Uminonakamichi National Seaside Park
Umi-no-nakamichi Seaside Park is a vast national park located in Umi-no-nakamichi, between Hakata Bay and the Genkai Sea.
There are various facilities, such as "Animal Forest", where about 50 species of animals live, "Sunshine Pool", a plaza with large play equipment, and cycling courses, so there are many ways to enjoy yourself.
Another great attraction is that you can enjoy beautiful flowers all year round.
A total of 1,600 Somei-Yoshino and Oshima-zakura cherry trees are planted around the Flower Hill and along the cycling road. The best time to see them is usually from late March to early April.

Nokonoshima Island Park in Nishi Ward, Fukuoka City
Nokonoshima Island Park, a natural park on Nokonoshima Island, can be reached in about 10 minutes by ferry from Meinohama Ferry Terminal.

[Itoshima City] Ikeda Riverbank
About a 10-minute walk from Hatae Station on the JR Chikuhi Line, there is a row of cherry trees on both banks of the Ikeda River (Zuibaiji River) that flows on the east side of Hatae Elementary School.
In addition to taking a walk along the tree-lined street, the view from the railing of Ikeda River Bridge is also recommended. It is also a great place to take the best shots of the Chikuhi Line trains with the cherry blossoms in the background.

Sasayama Park is located on a small hill overlooking Itoshima city, about a 5-minute walk from Chikuzen-Maebaru Station on the JR Chikuhi Line.

[Dazaifu City] Homangu Kamado Shrine
Located at the foot of Mount Homan in Dazaifu City, Homanmiya Kamado Shrine is a shrine famous for matchmaking.
It is also known as a famous cherry blossom viewing spot, and around the end of March, about 200 cherry trees, including Kawazuzakura, Kanhizakura, and Weepingzakura, all come into bloom at once.
The cherry trees stretch from the front parking lot all the way to the approach to the shrine, so when they're in full bloom the whole area is bathed in a pale pink hue!
The highlight is the row of cherry blossom trees along the approach to the shrine. The branches are at eye level, allowing you to enjoy the blossoms up close.
Don't miss the illuminations that will be on display from 6:30pm to 9pm from Saturday, March 23rd to Sunday, March 31st, 2024.

Dazaifu Citizens' Forest is a place of relaxation for citizens located at the foot of Mt. Shioji, north of the former Dazaifu Government Office site.
The west side of the forest is called the "Spring Forest" and the east side is called the "Autumn Forest", and you can enjoy cherry blossoms on the west side and autumn leaves of deciduous trees on the east side.
In spring, about 300 Somei-yoshino and Yaezakura cherry trees bloom, painting the entire area in a pale pink hue.

Shioji Forest Road is known as a famous cherry blossom viewing spot in Dazaifu City. When the cherry blossoms on both sides of the road bloom all at once, it feels like you are passing through a cherry blossom tunnel! The best time to see them is usually from late March to early April.

The Dazaifu Government Office Ruins are the remains of the government office that once served as the western capital and a gateway for negotiations with foreign countries. It is a special national historic site. Although the buildings no longer exist, the site is popular as a historic park.

Amagi Park, located in Asakura City, is a place of natural beauty that is loved by locals as a place of relaxation. It is known as one of the most famous cherry blossom viewing spots in the prefecture, with approximately 4,000 cherry trees planted within the park.
The sight of cherry blossoms, mainly Somei-Yoshino, blooming all at once around the gourd-shaped Maruyama Pond is a sight you won't see anywhere else. The reflection of the cherry blossoms in the pond is so beautiful that you'll lose track of time while gazing at them!

Akizuki is a popular tourist destination that still retains the atmosphere of a castle town and is known as the "Little Kyoto of Chikuzen." Its beauty in spring and autumn is especially not to be missed.
About 200 cherry trees line both sides of Sugino-Baba-dori, the main street leading to the Akizuki Castle ruins, and in spring it turns into a 500-meter-long "cherry blossom tunnel."
