This popular annual event will be held again this year.

January 2nd (Tuesday) will be held! The annual New Year's lucky draw

On Tuesday, January 2nd, the first opening day of 2024, the 67th annual New Year's Lucky Draw will be held.

The first 500 people will have the chance to win auspicious New Year prizes and prizes unique to the zoo and botanical gardens.

■ 1st place (1 person)

A set of lucky charms (pictured) (Tsushima deer antlers and golden cactus), a tour of the giraffe's backstage, and a commemorative magazine for the 70th anniversary of the opening of Fukuoka City Zoo, "Tsushima Wildcat Footprints"

Eligibility: Lottery tickets will be distributed to the first 350 people at the zoo main gate and the first 150 people at the botanical garden main gate.
(1st to 12th prizes, no blank tickets)
Location: Zoo entrance plaza

*Lucky tickets will not be distributed at the west gate of the zoo.
* Participation is free. However, admission fee is required.
* Distribution of lottery tickets may end before the park opens at 9:00.

New Year's Guide (Zoo Spot Guide)

The "Zoo Spot Guide" is available every Sunday and public holiday. It is a very popular content as it gives you information that only zookeepers know.

This year, the theme is "Indian Peafowl".

Participation is free and anyone can get one (one per person, limited numbers available).

Spring Seven Herbs Rice Porridge Party

Following the traditional Japanese custom of eating seven herbs on January 7th to pray for good health, the Botanical Garden will be serving "seven herb rice porridge" to the first 200 people on Saturday, January 6th (participation is free).

At the same time, there will be an exhibition of the "Seven Herbs of Spring." Please enjoy the warm and mild-tasting rice porridge while feeling the season and tradition.
