[Updated for 2023] The Canal illumination lighting ceremony will be held on November 3rd! There will also be a special talk event with "flumpool" the following day!
We are currently introducing illuminations from all over Fukuoka Prefecture.
This time, we will be introducing the Canal City Hakata illuminations "Canal Winter Illuminations 2023," which will be lit up from tomorrow, November 3rd, 2023 (Friday, national holiday).
The lighting ceremony will be held for the first time in about four years. A talk event with flumpool is scheduled to be held the day after the ceremony!

The "Canal Winter Illumination 2023" lighting ceremony will be held on November 3, 2023!
The lighting ceremony for Canal Winter Illumination 2023 will be held on Friday, November 3rd, 2023 (national holiday).
From around 6:20 p.m. (scheduled), various areas of the building will be lit up all at once, including the "Wall of Light," which lights up the entire hemispherical wall along the canal, and the "River of Light," which will fill the 180-meter canal from north to south with light.
After the lighting ceremony, the lights will be on every day from 10:00 to 24:00 until Thursday, February 29, 2024.
Also, don't miss the "Illumination Show" that combines a fountain show and illuminations, which is held every day from 18:15, 19:15, 20:15, and 21:30! *Times are subject to change without notice.
In addition, the 3D projection mapping show "CANAL XMAS DISCO" featuring DJ Santa will be held at the Sun Plaza Stage (viewable from B1F to the upper floors) at 18:00, 19:00, 20:00, and 21:00 until Monday, December 25, 2023. *No performances on Friday, November 3rd (National Holiday) at 18:00, Saturday, November 4th at 18:00 and 19:00.
On weekends in December, the event will be even more exciting with the addition of "sparkler" effects!

The "Lighting Commemorative Event" held in conjunction with the lighting of "Canal Winter Illumination 2023" is also very attractive!
[Events on Friday, November 3, 2023 (National Holiday)]
On the day of the lighting ceremony, Friday, November 3rd, 2023 (a national holiday), students from Fukuoka Municipal Fukusho High School will perform a choir (open to the public) for approximately 30 minutes from 6:00 p.m. on the Sun Plaza Stage.
The lighting will take place at around 6:20 p.m. (scheduled) with songs perfect for Christmas, including the gospel song "Joyful, Joyful."
They will also be performing "WA ni Natte Odorou" and other songs. It's a song that everyone in the venue can sing and dance along to and have fun with.
[Event on Saturday, November 4, 2023]
The following day, on Saturday, November 4, 2023, the four members of popular artist group flumpool will appear on the Sun Plaza Stage and hold the "Canal Illumination Lighting Commemorative Event FM FUKUOKA presents flumpool Special Talk" for approximately 45 minutes starting at 7:00 p.m.
You can enjoy special talks that you can only hear here, such as memories of Fukuoka and Christmas stories.
You can watch for free from B1F to the upper floors, but B1F is the priority viewing area. To enter, you will need a "priority viewing area admission ticket" which will be distributed from 12:30 on the day. *Available while supplies last *Winners of the fan club's advance application will also be allowed to enter (for more information, see the official Canal City Hakata website)
