[Kokura Lunch] Customize to your liking! A popular omelet rice specialty restaurant (Kitakyushu) where you'll inevitably have to queue up
Hello. I'm Momo and I love to eat.
This time, we will introduce you to an excellent omurice restaurant in Asano, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City.
Customize it to your liking! The hugely popular omelet rice specialty store "Egg Story" (Asano, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City)
Egg Story, an omelet rice specialty restaurant, is quietly located behind the station, about a 7-minute walk from the Shinkansen exit of JR Kokura Station.
It was founded in 1996 and moved to its current new location in May 2023. It is a very popular store that often has long queues.
There are a lot of customers especially on weekends. I went there 10 minutes before opening on Saturday lunchtime, but there were already three groups waiting! Even after that, the line never died down, and customers kept coming in one after another. I recommend that you go there with plenty of time.
It's convenient not only by train, but also by car, as there is parking for three cars next to the store (there is also a paid parking lot nearby).
Look for this sign.

The entrance door is noteworthy. The handle is in the shape of a large branch and is very stylish!

The specialty of this shop is that you can customize it to your liking.
The menu includes six types of omurice, such as "Salmon Mayo Omurice" (1,100 yen) and "Mentaiko Mayo Omurice" (1,100 yen), as well as two dishes that use spaghetti instead of rice, "Omuspa Napolitan" (1,150 yen) and "Omuspa Spicy Fish Eggs" (1,150 yen).
First, choose the rice flavor (salmon mayo, mentaiko mayo, Japanese-style mushroom mayo, spicy, kimchi, takana) and size (1.5 times + 150 yen, 2 times + 300 yen, 3 times + 600 yen), then choose your sauce (demi-glace, curry, white) and your preferred toppings (mushroom + 150 yen, butter + 150 yen, cheese + 150 yen, sausage + 200 yen, seafood + 250 yen).

You can also choose the sauce for the Omu Spaghetti menu, but only in one size. It is about 1.5 times the size of an Omu Rice.
At lunchtime, in addition to the omelette rice a la carte, there is also the "LUNCH SET" with soup and salad (1,300 yen, omelette spaghetti 1,400 yen), as well as the "Neapolitan Spaghetti" with soup and salad (1,300 yen), which are all great deals.
You'll be amazed by the deliciousness! The most popular dish is "Salmon Mayonnaise Omelette Rice"
Each omelet rice is carefully made after an order is placed, and served hot and fresh. The residual heat of the rice will harden the egg, so it's best to eat it as soon as possible!
The most popular dish is the "Salmon Mayonnaise Omelette Rice" (1,100 yen), which is rice mixed with shredded salmon. This time, I chose the "White Sauce" version.

The shape of the egg is so pretty! The rich rice with the salty salmon taste will whet your appetite, the mild white sauce, and the fluffy egg all come together in your mouth and you'll be amazed at how delicious it is.

The taste was such that it's easy to see why it has the highest repeat purchase rate.
Mushrooms and demi-glace sauce go perfectly together! "Japanese-style mushroom mayonnaise omurice"
There are still plenty of delicious omurice options available.
This is the "Japanese-style Mushroom Mayonnaise Omelette Rice" (1,100 yen) with Demi-glace Sauce.

Image: momo
This Japanese-style omelet rice is made by mixing sweet and spicy stewed mushrooms into rice seasoned with dashi soy sauce, and the mushroom flavor and sweet demi-glace sauce are an exquisite match.

Mentaiko Mayo Omelette Rice: A mild, addictive taste
The second most popular dish after the "Salmon Mayo Omelette Rice" is the "Mentaiko Mayo Omelette Rice" (1,100 yen). I chose the "White Sauce" and topped it with "Cheese" (+150 yen).

The rice is mixed with plenty of Spicy Fish Eggs, giving it a gentle flavor that you will never tire of.

The eggs are soft and fluffy, perfectly cooked and irresistible.

It's topped with a generous amount of cheese, which melts from the heat of the sauce ♡ The cheese and Spicy Fish Eggs go perfectly together.

All of them have a taste that you're sure to become addicted to once you try them.
