[Kitakyushu Children's Playground] Free entry and exit, and you can bring in your own food and drinks! An all-weather "indoor amusement park"
Hello. I'm Honosuke, who is developing a playground that parents and children can enjoy together.
This time, we will introduce you to an indoor amusement park located in Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City!
Perfect for a break from shopping! "TheKids Riverwalk Kitakyushu" is an indoor amusement park for children aged 0 to 12 (Muromachi, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City)
TheKids Riverwalk Kitakyushu is located on the second floor of Riverwalk Kitakyushu, about a 10-minute walk from JR Kokura Station and a 3-minute walk from JR Nishi-Kokura Station.
TheKids is an indoor amusement park with 43 locations nationwide where children from 0 to 12 years old can play, and the Riverwalk Kitakyushu location is the only one in Fukuoka.
It's located inside a large complex, so it's convenient for shopping, and there's ample parking (paid, with free parking available for store use), so you can come by car with peace of mind!

When you arrive, check in at the entrance. You can leave your stroller in the designated area in front of the store.
There is also a shelf near the entrance where you can store your luggage. There is no door or lock, so please carry your valuables with you.
You are free to enter and exit the facility as many times as you like. It's great that you can do things like shopping or take a break along the way.
Check the opening hours and fees!
Business hours are 10:00-18:00 on weekdays (last admission 17:30), and 10:00-20:00 on weekends and holidays (last admission 19:30).
The fee for children is 500 yen per hour on weekdays and holidays (*), and the weekday-only "Children's 1-Day Pack" is 1,000 yen. Children under 1 year olds are free. (*) Holidays are on weekends, national holidays, and specific days designated by the facility, such as spring, summer, and winter holidays when nurseries, kindergartens, and schools are on long breaks.
Parents can purchase only the one-day package, which costs 500 yen on weekdays and holidays.
By the way, the weekday-only "Children's 1-Day Pack" can be purchased in advance from the "TheKids" official website, saving you 100 yen.
*The current location will be open until Sunday, March 2, 2025. After that, it will move to the third floor in front of Akachan Honpo Smile and reopen on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. It will be three times as large! (New rates: Children 1,000 yen per day on weekdays, 1,200 yen for 3 hours on holidays/1,500 yen per day, parents 500 yen per day on weekdays and holidays)
Children will have fun playing! Exciting play equipment
First up is the gigantic two-story jungle gym! This is a very popular playground equipment with an eye-catching colorful ball pool.
My one-year-old son seemed to enjoy falling into the ball pool and slid down the slide many times.

We climbed up the steps to the second floor. The climb itself was a fun activity for the children.

This is the kids' house and play house corner. There are a wide variety of toys, such as food for play house, miniature cars, and dolls, so it's exciting.
There was also a slide made of soft material. It was gentler than the steps inside the jungle gym, so it was perfect for small children.

We also found some free-to-play game machines! Children around elementary school age found their favorite games and played them over and over again, looking like they were having a lot of fun.

There were even rental dresses available. You can take photos in a dress, which will be a great memory. *You cannot play in the dress.

There was also a "bead coloring book" (300 yen, sold at reception) which seemed like a fun activity to encourage the development of hands and fingers.

There is also space for eating and drinking, as well as facilities for adults to relax!
You are free to bring food and drinks into the facility. You can eat and drink in this space. There are also kids' chairs, so it's safe even if you have small children.

There was a section where you could play dynamically using your whole body, and a section where you could play using your hands at a desk, and there were many other sections, making it a wonderful playground with a wide range of ways to have fun.
